Sitting room has sofa bed couch, flat screen TV/DVD, and radio/stereo. Bathroom has washbasin, toilet, and shower. Front porch faces west with views of meadows, mature trees, gardens, and Stockton Harbor on Penobscot Bay. Owners' house is also on the property.

Area Description

Stockton Springs is a small Maine town located just off US Route 1 at the head of Penobscot Bay 11 miles northeast of Belfast and 26 miles south of Bangor. Seacroft Cottage is located a half mile from the head of Stockton Harbor and Cape Jellison, which offers one of Maine's loveliest state parks at Fort Point Lighthouse. The quaint old seaport town of Searsport is four miles to the southwest with the Maine Maritime Museum, a well-stocked market, many antique and curio shops, and a fine bookstore. More extensive shopping opportunities, museums, and galleries are available in nearby Belfast. The colorful seaport town of Camden is about 30 minutes southwest of Stockton Springs on US 1. A few miles north on US 1, on the way to Bangor and Bar Harbor, is the spectacular, new Penobscot Narrows suspension bridge with its unique high observation tower served by an elevator and surveying a wide area of Mid-coast Maine. Just over an hour's drive along routes US 1 and ME 3 brings you to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Just Barb's (1/2 mi) and several other nearby excellent small restaurants. Many antique stores and flea markets close by on US 1.
