Description of the Stoneham vacation cottage rental
The cottage has a living room with stereo, sitting/TV/reading room, full bath with shower, and complete kitchen on the first floor. It has two bedrooms on the second floor - one with a double bed and the other with twin beds. A small, comfortable, single sleeping area is found under the staircase. It is heated by a substantial propane wall heater. The kitchen is fully equipped and complete with a gas stove, large refrigerator, sink and abundant counter areas and cabinets. It is surrounded on two sides by a large covered porch, with a 16-foot portion completely enclosed by screens. In addition, there is a very cozy, separate, Scandinavian-type bunk house close to the lake that contains two bunk beds, seating and a small, private porch - ideal for children or to just gain privacy. Outside, there is ample room for play by the lake, with a barbeque pit, hammock and area for a horse-shoe game.
The cottage comes complete with a new DSL/WiFi connection, a canoe, dock and swimming float - assuring a great time by the lake. During the months of July and August, the lake water temperature near the surface is typically very comfortable – ranging from 74 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on whether there has been a great deal of warm weather, sun and/or rain. The water is very clean because the leak is fed by streams from the mountains. Very few motorboats (only on weekends) and several conoes and kayaks use the lake. However, jet skis are not allowed on the lake. Many renters have had excellent fishing luck in the lake, where several large bass and trout have been caught. Therefore, the lake assures a unique experience and a range of opportunities to have a fun and relaxing vacation.

We have been going to Maine for years and have never had a better cottage! Place lived up to everything we hoped, from the great screened porch to bunk house, our family loved it.

Excellent vacation
August 24, 2009
We really enjoyed our time here--the lake was the perfect temperature for swimming and it was nice to have our own private dock. Canoeing in the evening was relaxing, and there are some very nice hikes only a short drive away. The cottage is also a cozy, plesaant place to spend some time...very well equipped and homey. Highly recommended!

A Fantastic Rental
July 29, 2009
I rented the place for a full week and it was outstanding. It was exceptionally clean and had all the amenities of home (washer/dryer, microwave, TV, DVD, etc.) plopped right down in the middle of a quiet, serene and secluded lakefront. The scenery was beautiful and the privacy was perfect. The fishing was very good (14 largemouth in 5 days, biggest was 3 lbs.) The lake temperature was warm enough to swim every day. I was able to read 4 books and especially enjoyed the screened in porch which had a GREAT view. In short, I would strongly recommend this place to anyone: families with kids or adults.
Owner Supplied Testimonials

We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing time by the lake. I read four books in one week and slept like a baby for the first time in years. The sounds of the loons at night are enchanting.

I have not been so relaxed in years. The quiet of the woods and the sounds of the birds is such a change from my normal life. We would love to own such a neat place.
