Enjoy breakfast on the screened porch, walk on wooded trails adjacent to the property, paddle our canoe (or kayaks, which you can bring or rent here) to numerous islands and bays, or relax and read a book in the hammock by the water's edge.

Deer Isle is a naturalist's paradise, with wonderful opportunities for kayaking, hiking, bicycling, and swimming. Take a ferry to Isle au Haut, join a guided kayak tour, or visit some of the many art galleries on the island which feature works by local artists and craftspeople. Tennis and golf are nearby, and many restaurants offer anything from "lobster in the rough" to gourmet dining. Mount Desert Island (Acadia National Park) is about 1 1/4 hours' drive away, with a scenic coastal loop road and mountain trails with glorious views.
