Stonington is located on the tip of Deer Isle overlooking Penobscot Bay. The town is one of the few remaining lobster fishing villages in Maine. The quaint town also is home to many artists and the Stonington Opera House, just down the hill from the house, is a national historic landmark. There is a beautiful sandy beach outside town and many hiking trails in the area.
