I almost didn't want to write this review, because I wanted to keep this place secret from everybody else before it gets too popular! I have been in the vacation property rental business myself, so I can tell you that this home is very nicely cared for. My family rented this property for an extended vacation. We come to Hawaii often, and our boys live in the islands, so we know the whole island pretty well. This house is located on Sunset Beach, right on the sand, with amazing views and a nice surf break right out in front of the house. You can see the point from the house, so when Sunset Point is going off you have a great view of the surfers there too. You can't find a better location than this on the entire island in my opinion. Miles of great sandy beaches in either direction. Easy access to Kamehameha Hwy. Foodland, Ted's bakery, Shark's Cove, and Waimea Beach are all within easy biking distance. The house itself is very private, bright and tastefully decorated, with fresh paint, clean and immaculately cared for, and has everything you need for a wonderful relaxing vacation. The kitchen is well stocked, beds are comfortable, walls and floors are spotlessly clean, showers are nicely tiled, Wireless internet is provided as well as washer and dryer, plenty of cable TV channels, gas grill, outside shower for rinsing off sand and salt, etc. The yard is nicely maintained, the grass is soft on the feet, and parking is ample. The manager Fred is friendly, polite and very accommodating, and knows the island well. He met up with us and gave us a thorough orientation on the property and the area. Beach chairs and bikes are included. Needless to say, we want to come back as soon as we can! Thanks to Fred and Julie for doing such a great job keeping this feeling more like a nice home than a rental property.

If your looking for a quite, clean, awesome house right on a perfect beach (Sunset) then this is the place for you. Our family stayed for a week and wished we had of stayed for two. We swam with turtles, saw dolphins and had the beach almost to ourselves. Fred P (senior) is a real character and very helpful with paces to go etc. We have stayed at all the Hawaiian islands, but will know be staying here. The northern beaches remind me of beach holidays in the 60's- little tourism, no high rise, friendly people and a more relaxed way of life than the tourist traps of Maui, Kuai and the Big Island. Make sure you have a pastry at Ted's in the morning, about 2 mins drive. You can ride on the pushbikes that Fred P has at the house.

An amazing beachfront location and stellar remodeling make Sunset Hale a winner for us. We found the property spacious and the kitchen very well appointed. We took full advantage of the amenities provided by the owner: beach cruiser bikes to coast along the bikepath, pool table, lanai for meals and cards, beach towels, outdoor grill, beach access-the absolute best surf watching spot on North Shore. The outdoor shower was perfect for washing off the sand from morning walks on Sunset Beach. Ted's Bakery is just a bike ride away. We loved the proximity to all the North Shore beaches and felt the accommodations surpassed those at Turtle Bay for half the cost of their cottages. We'll go back and stay at Sunset Hale again, Thanks Big Fred!!!!!
Sunset Hale we found it to be much better then we ever expected.Right on the ocean and what a great beach white sand for miles.Very clean with everything we needed.
