Description of the Sunset Beach vacation home rental
Aloha and welcome to our non-smoking North Shore vacation home with a HOT TUB and brand new high end Weber stainless steel grill on it's deck for your BBQ's!

We are located in a private gated and fenced community with only 4 other homes and have more than 10 years worth of great reviews on our other main websites that we advertise on. Our North Shore Paradise vacation rental is a beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bath home located in between Waimea Bay, Pipeline, and Sunset Beach. These are 3 of the most famous beaches in the world and you can literally walk or ride a bike to them from the house.

We are just 4 houses away from the ocean and the beach behind the house is one of the best kept secrets on the North Shore. It is a partially secluded white sand beach where you can enjoy searching through millions of tiny seashells to make necklaces, tide pools with little fish, breaching whales, basking sea turtles, and breathtaking sunsets.

The only major grocery store, Foodland, and an attached coffee shop are just a short walk away down a paved bike path, giving you all of the comforts and conveniences of home. Many people enjoy jogging and biking along this pathway, which winds along the most famous beaches on the North Shore. We also have 4 beach cruisers for you to enjoy!

Some of the best snorkeling and diving on the island is right outside your doorstep at a protected marine life park called "Sharks Cove". Don't let the name fool you as this is a very protected area with tide pools that are loaded with fish and tiny sea creatures for the kids too. For those that love golf there is a 36 hole golf course located a few miles away at Turtle Bay that was designed by famous golfer, Arnold Palmer.

We have been sharing our North Shore Paradise vacation home for more than 10 years now to guests from all over the world and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Sunset Beach Home

November 12, 2014

Awesome house with everything you need to help you feel at home. Excellent location as it is walking distance to Foodland and coffee shop and beautiful snorkelling. Can ride the 4 cruiser bikes all the way to Sunset Beach and beyond on the great bike path. Would highly recommend this house to families, couples or anyone wanting to enjoy the North Shore.

Our stay at this North Shore Paradise was phenomenal! There are so many fun activities to do and beautiful things to see in the close vicinity of the house that we never left the north shore during our week there. The snorkeling a short walk from the house is amazing, some of the best I’ve ever seen! The beaches across the north shore are gorgeous, not crowded, and have white sand and world-class surfing. The landscape with large, tropical hills not far from the ocean is majestic and makes for nice hiking with great views. The aloha book was extremely useful in guiding us places to go to eat and things to see and do. We were all very surprised about how tasty and gourmet the food is from the food trucks in the area right around the house. Riding a bike along the path around the house was really fun and relaxing and is a great way to check out the local beaches, such as Bonzai Pipeline and Sunset beach. The house was perfect and had everything we needed, such as a nice outdoor table, a BBQ, 4 bikes, washer and dryer, a roomy open kitchen, stereo, and even a hot tub. It’s also conveniently located walking distance from the supermarket. We made great memories during our week at this North Shore Paradise and we cannot wait to go back!

Exactly as advertised! Highlight of our vacation!

I can't stress enough what a wonderful place this is. Beautiful and clean. Minutes to Shark's Cove, a sandy beach, and stores. Our kids had a wonderful time! Secure and quiet neighborhood. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The house is beautiful, and surprisingly well equipped. The kitchen has all you'll need, and the house comes with snorkels, bikes, a grill and a hot tub. It's so perfectly located too -- right by the beach, and minutes away from the supermarket [not to mention food trucks!]. The owner left a notebook full of hints about the house and the surrounding area, and interaction with him was easy and helpful. I loved this house, and the vacation. I strongly recommend this rental home!

Wonderful vacation home!

February 15, 2014

We loved staying there! So close to everything we wanted to see, but not all the gnarled traffic we got stuck in when visiting Waikiki and surrounding area. It was great to escape all that and enjoy the peacefulness of this location. The house is fully equipped with everything you could want and very clean. The hot tub, bikes, beach chairs and even some snorkel gear were an added plus......just like staying at a friend's house! Since it was below zero back home, we had a hard time leaving this place when our stay was over!

great family choice

January 7, 2014

Great choice for family vacation (infant 19 months, parents, aunt and grandma). Not only a great location for walking, beach, grocery, food, and visiting other destinations, but great accommodations with everything you need and nothing you don't. Would likely return in future if dates are available as this property seems in high demand from my booking where I booked a lot in advance and given it was not peak time. Highly recommended.

North Shore Paradise!

December 29, 2013

We had the best time at NSP! The house was just perfect for myself, my husband, our 2 daughters, son and daughter in law. We were just a few minutes walk from the most beautiful beach, and right on the bike/running path along the North Shore. The house was decorated so nicely, and was cleaner than a whistle. We were close to the grocery store if we wanted to cook at home (the grill outside was amazing!), or to a number of food trucks (Pupukea Grill was our favorite) if we wanted to eat out. A perfect vacation!

3 Generations in Paradise

October 20, 2013

My husband and I enjoyed our daughter's family joining us for a two week vacation on the North Shore. Each couple had a nice Queen size bedroom and the three children (20, 17, 13) shared the twin room with the futons doubled up on the floor--no complaints! The house was lovely, comfortable and in a great location. We walked 5 minutes to Ke Iki beach daily for the kids to body surf and to watch the sunset. The bike trail gave us access to several beaches within 15 minutes both directions. We could walk to Foodland for groceries and to Shark's Cove for snorkeling. Our only disappointment was having my beach bag with glasses, phone, dress and hat stolen while in the water for 20 minutes at Shark's Cove. Don't leave anything on the beach! We found gluten free and health foods at Celestials in Haleiwa and great smoothies in the back. Our other treat was shaved ice at Aokis' since it was too crowded at Matsumotos most of the time. We all loved the North Shore and the quietness and laid back atmosphere but still drove across to Pearl Harbor for the Missouri and movies and shopping at Pearl Ridge. The girls loved taking surf lessons at Chun's Reef and did Stand Up Paddle Boards with their Dad in Halei'wa. All of us drove to Kualoa Ranch and took the Movie set tour---it is well worth it for the history and the beauty of the ranch's location. My husband loved having A/C and we kept the bedroom doors open at night so the rooms were kept very pleasant from the cool living room. The bikes were great to have and were used every day. The laundry appliances are under the house and that worked fine for us. The outdoor shower helped to get the sand out of our suits from being pummeled by shore break. All of our correspondence with Tim was excellent from beginning to end and we would all recommend this house and the North Shore and hope to go back ourselves.

A Home Away From Home

September 23, 2013

An affordable and incredible substitute to a resort hotel on the island. If you are looking for a relaxing, go-at-your-own pace, peaceful stay then this is the place you need to be. Three bedrooms and two baths give a spacious setting for a small group of vacationers. All of the amenities included make way for an easy and effortless stay. Location is very desireable! A two minute walk to a beach the stretches for seven miles, Sharks Cove is a block away where you can snorkel with sea turtles, a walkway that follows the highway is perfect for a morning ride on the beach cruisers that are included with the home, a grocery market two blocks a way, and the very popular Ted's Bakery is just a drive up the road for some morning pastries. Distant destinations such as Waikiki may be a bit of a drive, but believe me, it is well worth the time spent on the road to come back to this beautiful home at the end of your day. For these reasons this was the most relaxing vacation my family and I have experienced and we WILL definitely visit this home again come our next stay on Oahu.

A little taste of the North Shore

June 8, 2013

We really had a great time on the North Shore. The house has everything we needed, and was in a great location. Unfortunately once we were totally settled in, it was time to pack up and leave. The next stay will be much longer. Tim was great about making the whole process easy, and checked in several times by text to make sure we able to check in to the house and that everything was in order. After staying for 5 days, and getting a "real" feel of the north shore, we didn't want to leave. Nothing better than getting up each morning, walking down to a nearly empty beach, and jumping in the clear warm water. My wife and 4 year old daughter had a great time looking for puka shells on the beach too. As I was telling Tim (the owner) about one of our ideal days (which they all were). I went down to Ke Iki beach for a swim, came back and jumped on the bike w/ the little one and rode down past sunset pt beach, then back to the house and out to Kuilima beach to play (great protected beach by Turtle Bay for the little one), and later back to Ke Iki for more fun in the surf, and then back on the bikes with the family to Waimea Bay and up to Pipeline for sunset. Couldn't and wouldn't ask for anything more. As I got back from the beach right before checkout time on our last day, my wife asked if I might cry ... I thought about it :) Thanks Tim and family for everything. Much Aloha.

Spectacular Vacation Home

April 5, 2013

Not sure where to begin as this was an amazing vacation rental from the time we booked the vacation. Tim and Laura(the owners)have been amazing through the entire rental process with communication. They answered questions before we booked, were in contact with us before we left on vacation, and were available to answer questions during the vacation. This is the experience we were looking for in a relaxing vacation. The home was amazing from the moment we arrived. Every amenity you could think of to make our stay a great one and feel like we were right at home was provided. When we weren't going out to eat, we would grill out on the amazing deck and relax under the tropical shade trees. We did plenty of eating out also, and did not have a single disappointment in food on the North Shore either. We ate lunches and dinners at Giovanni's, Cholo's, Breakers, Haleiwa Joes. Got Shave ice from Aoki's, and ate breakfast probably 4 of the mornings at Ted's Bakery which has amazing breakfast! When it comes to real estate, it is all about location, location, location. This place is exactly that! Our children had plenty of room to play while at the house and the neighborhood is very quiet and kid friendly. The neighbors were friendly, but also gave us privacy and the relaxing environment we were looking for. Sleeping every night with the windows open was amazing as we fell asleep listening to the waves crash on the beach. We visited every beach on the North Shore as well as others around the island, and the secluded mostly private Ke Iki Beach 4 houses away was by far the best beach here. We walked this beach every morning and saw whales right off the beach almost every morning jumping out of the water! This was also an amazing beach to watch the sunset from! The house is in walking distance to beaches and amenities to make your stay complete. Just 5 minutes down the road is the quaint town of Haliewa where the above mentioned restaurants are, as well as small town atmosphere and shopping. We were looking for a quiet vacation out of the hustle of big town Honolulu, but close enough to visit (apprx 30 min drive) for 2 days of our stay. We were so happy to get back to the North Shore and relax both days we went to Honolulu. Again, could not ask for a better rental location. Last but definately not least, the hot tub was amazing! We spent every morning in it before starting our day, and finished many days here. Thank you Tim and Laura...Top Recommendation!!!

A great place for a holiday

February 20, 2013

We shared this wonderful holiday home with another couple and their children and it was just perfect for us. The supplies and equipment around the house were great, lots of toys and children's items available made it very comfortable for everyone. The trail along the road was fabulous for running and the beach access was handy. It was great to be so close to pipeline. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean and exceptionally well equipt right down to the laundry soap. I loved that the previous guests food items were still there in the pantry, it meant that we didn't have to go out to buy those items that you only need a teaspoon of. Oh, and the discounts and Foodland were awesome. We would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to get back one day.

Amazing Holiday

December 20, 2012

You could not be dissappointed with this place, we were here for 2 weeks primarily to watch the Billabong Pipe Masters at Pipeline and that was a 5 minute bike ride or 15 min walk, awesome. The three bedrooms, two bathrooms were very comfortable for 4 adults and 1 child. The home has all the appointments you could wish for, a modern well stocked kitchen, BBQ grill on the verandah, Aircon, Fans, Hot Tub (spent 1/2 our holiday in there), wireless internet, computer, cable TV, movies on demand, two bikes, beach chairs, snorkelling gear and the list goes on. The owner was easily contactable via email and responded quickly and courteously. The house is situated 1/2 way between Sunset beach and Waemia Bay making it a 20 minute bike ride to either, close to Pupuka Grill, Foodland, Shark Cove and grill, Ted's Bakery you won't be short of places for that quick snack and groceries after snorkelling in Shark Cove or just lying on one of the many beaches. A short 15 min drive west to Haleiwa and what a beautiful little township set on the bay and river, we enjoyed meals at Haleiwa Joe's, The grilled chicken from the trailer grill in the main street was yummy (went back twice). A 15min drive east takes you to Turtle Bay Resort, and the famous North Shore shrimp trucks, a liitle further on is the Polynesian Cultural Centre for a wonderful dinner and amazing show depicting Polynesian Life. A 1 hour drive get's you back to Honululu and Waikiki for shopping, meeting friends and touring Pearl Harbour. Our experience was only limited by our energy levels which we spent many hours recharging in the hot tub with a cold beer (recommend the Longboard Lager), oh and girls, you can buy bottles of Mai Tai from Foodland for about $14. Did I mention that two Aussies made the final of the Billabong Pipe Masters (Josh Kerr and Joel Parkinson) with Joel Parkinson taking out the Masters and ASP World Championship. We had a fantastic time and a fantastic place to stay you could not possibly be dissappionted. The Burns Family, Sydney Australia.

Peaceful and relaxing

October 6, 2012

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in this house. It a very peaceful house and area. We loved riding the bikes on the bike path right outside the house. We rode bikes pretty much every day. We went to a different beach almost everyday too. The one by the house is beautiful and private but when we were there the waves were a little too big to go in. We really enjoyed the beach next to Sharks Cove and Wimea bay. Try the banana/protein smoothies at Sharks Cove Grill.

Our dream vacation home.

September 20, 2012

When people think of dream vacations they usually imagine white sand beaches, delicious local food and a place to call home, away from home. The vacation rental property at North Shore Paradise is that dream realized. Every other year my family plans a trip to Hawai'i. This year we were absolutely blown away by the gorgeous North Shore Paradise property. We quite literally gasped at first glance. As soon as we pulled into the driveway we couldn't help but to think "is this real?", we expected something nice but this truly exceeded our expectations. Upon walking in, after being enthralled by the scent of plumeria and wild ginger in the yard, there was a steady barrage of "ooohs" and "aahhhs" as we surveyed our new home for the week. The property, nay, our momentary home, felt like a close relative's embrace. My family just like so many other working class, blue collar families scrimp and save for their dream Hawaiian vacation. The value of this property cannot be measured simply in dollars, that would be a inadequate metric. Aside from the extremely well stocked pantry, linen closet and recreation locker this property is a two minute walk from two of the most gorgeous ocean side views in all of O'ahu, in our humble opinion of course. This location truly is central to anything and everything you could need, and more. The Tusa's hospitality and their sincere dedication to their client's satisfaction is quite evident in everything from the booking process to the layout and amnenities of the property. We cannot thank them enough and look forward to inhabiting this beautiful property again and again during future visits to this paradise. Thank you for giving us a place to rest our weary feet and to replenish our depleted souls. We're already planning our next trip out here.

Welcome Home Future Renters!

September 15, 2012

We just want to give two thumbs up to this fantastic home in the North Shore. From the beginning of our inquiry through the rental process and our full stay we have to say that the experience was wonderful. This property came with all the perks (comfort of home, impeccable cleanliness and everything you need to relax and have fun). Our favorite part was the LOCATION!!!! Due to us loving the outdoors, this property is only a few minute walk to jump in the ocean, snorkel at sharks cove, our new favorite food truck, the grocery store and next to a trail where you can go for a run or bike ride along the coast (Just Breathtaking). After traveling all over the Hawaiian Islands and staying various places like condos, hotels and other rental homes we can easily say this was our favorite. On top of that, the owners/management of this property was so professional, courteous and really treated us as guests. Owners-Thank you for your hospitality and we look forwards to returning soon!

Great "home away from home"!

July 2, 2012

We had a great time during our 8 day stay. The house is clean and well-appointed and it was a bonus to have the computer and flat screen TVs. We loved having a full kitchen with dishes, plates, glasses and silverware. The house creates a nice, homey feel, as opposed to staying at a hotel. It is close to everything on the North Shore and we enjoyed Ke Iki, Sunset and Waimea Bay Beach. The beaches were awesome, as well as the Polynesian Cultural Center on the North Shore. It really was not even a bad drive down to Honolulu where we flew to Kauai and the Big Island for day trips. We also had a wonderful time at Pearl Harbor, Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. The drive was pleasant and we always enjoyed coming “home” to our beautiful house on the North Shore. The hot tub was a great benefit and we enjoyed it after our long days of touring. My family of five found the house’s three bedrooms to be comfortable with everyone having their own space. The two bathrooms assured us that there was not a long wait when it came to showers. Tim was the quintessential professional, gregarious and helpful throughout our visit. He gave us some fun things to do and see while we were there. Overall, our visit to Tim’s “Northshore Paradise” was outstanding and we recommend it to anyone whether they are traveling as a couple or with a family.

Beautiful beach house

May 15, 2012

We had a great time at this beach house. We have two young children, and the place was very kid friendly. It was close to all ammenities (Foodland was a plus!) and only steps away from the beach. The hot tub was perfect at the end of a long day of chasing the kids up and down the beach. They had everything you would ever need. Beach toys, new bikes, etc. We would reccommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay on the north shore.

Treatment prior to arriving

May 2, 2012

We won’t arrive at the beach house for a few weeks; however, I’m very impressed with Tim and the promptness he has shown answering the many questions I’ve had for him prior to our arrival. We will have young children staying with us and Tim was generous enough to allow for a late check-out time, free of charge, so our children can have naps before the long night of travel home at the end of our vacation. If the treatment we’ve received beforehand is any indication of the treatment we’ll receive once we get to the North Shore, we will surely love every minute in the beach house!

Best Place To Stay!

February 7, 2011

My husband and I along with my brother and his wife stayed here for 7 days. The location was superb and this house offers everything you could possibly want or need in a vacation rental. The atmosphere on the North Shore is laid back and away from the main tourist traps! The beach is just a very short walk from the house and the sunsets are gorgeous! If you like a private beach setting away from the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the perfect spot. The house was very comfortable and provided all the amenities, including hair dryer and hot tub! This was my first trip to Hawaii and I would love to return some day to this very house. Aaron, the person who rented it to us, was very kind and gave us a lot of tips to help make our stay more enjoyable. Kudos to you Aaron! Ka Kinman
