Description of the Swan Lake vacation cottage rental

Come spend a week at one of the best kept secrets on Swan Lake. Our cottage has a private dock, swim float, kayak and canoe (exclusively yours for the week). Our two bedroom cottage is completely furnished with everything you need for an enjoyable week at the lake. We also supply cable and wireless internet.

Swan Lake is approximately 3.25 miles long by 1 mile wide.
Fishing, swimming, and boating are popular activities on the lake. Only a short walk or drive away from Swan Lake State Park.

Well behaved pets are allowed.

Area Information

We are located in mid coast Maine, just 10 miles from the coastal town of Belfast where you can enjoy lobsters, shopping, hiking, sailing, and great restaurants. We are located near Searsport(home to some of the best antiquing in Maine).
The Bar Harbor region and Acadia National Park are only 1 hour away! Enjoy great views from Cadillac Mountain and great scenic boat tours.

Serene and peaceful destination

First - I just want to thank Mike and Karin for letting us rent your cottage!! It was an amazing place!! The cottage itself was so adoreable and comfortable. Very nicely decorated too! My favourite part was the wall of windows overlooking the lake! It was wonderful to wake up in the morning and see the stillness and beauty of nature. The lake was beautiful and so peaceful. We definitely made use of the canoe everyday!! Our favourite town was Belfast - only 25 mintues from the cottage. It was a beautiful town with lots of little intrest stores to suit everyones fancy! The food there was amazing too! Overall this was a vacation to remember!! Lots of things to see and do! I would highly recommend this place to my own friends and family as well as anyone intrested in an relaxing and peaceful vacation! We will definitely be going back again!

Home away from home

This cottage was wonderful. It had a homey feeling, and the view was beautiful. The first day we stayed we saw a bald eagle fly past the window. Sitting on the dock watching the sunrise was amazing! The parks and hiking trails were only minutes from the house. It is also a very dog friendly area and home which was wonderful for my family and me.

Bliss - great for a small family

Just got back from a week at this property and my family loved it! The cottage is just precious, so carefully and tastefully decorated, from the paintings to the kitchenware! The view was spectacular and we felt like we were living in a tree house - we were there whilst Irene hit US and it was spectacular but we also felt safe! We used and enjoyed the kayak a lot and did a lot of swimming and checked out a few areas close by (Acadia, Blue Hill, Rockpool/Camden etc)..but the town of Belfast that is just down the road is really a lovely town to holiday near, everything you need from a great organic coop supermarket to good places to dine (family friendly) - a very art friendly town - and definitely check out Young's Lobster pound - loved the crab sandwich not so keen on their clam chowder! The space is ideal for a family of 4 -but one word of advice, bring your towels, I had misunderstood that they would be supplied, but luckily Mike and Karin were staying next door and happily provided us with some! Highly recommend this property for the best of what Maine has to offer! I heard Loons - I was very happy!

Revitalizing and relaxing

When you arrive at this cute cozy cottage you can see the beautiful Swan Lake spread out below you. The cabin sits above the water with a commanding view of the entire lake. Not only is there ample fishing, but we were accompanied by a majestic BALD EAGLE on many of our canoe trips. In the mornings it had taken to catching fish and sitting in the tree outside the cabin to eat it. What a thrill! While sitting out on the upper deck with our coffee we were lulled by the Loons haunting calls and watched the fish jump to catch their buggy breakfasts. During the weekends the lake is buzzing with activity. During the week it is a serene, quiet place to recoup for the rat race. We recommend Swan Lake Grocery for any food/bait shopping you need to do. The prices are great and the staff is ultra nice. We will definately be returning to this wonderful spot.
