McNay Family Weekend Getaway
October 10, 2012
Loved this house. Loved the feel. It has character that you can not get from a hotel. We enjoyed the trails. My kids absolutely loved playing ping pong and air hockey. Not to mention the huge tub!!! They even got creative by making a movie in the loft with their star wars toys! Belfast is a wonderful little town with beautiful shops and great places to eat. Loved the privacy but yet very close to anything that you could need while away from home. We are already planning our return visit which will be a much longer stay for sure! We can not wait to come back. You will enjoy your stay here for sure. Thanks for everything Stone Family!!!!!

Great house, convenient location
September 5, 2012
We had a very pleasant stay in overall. The photos depict accurately the house and the owners are helpful and easy to deal with. The ground floor bahroom is very spacious, the second one is in the basement and not so convenient with a full house.
Owner's reply:
We are glad your stay was enjoyable. Thank you for commenting on the accuracy of our photos. We do understand there are challenges when sharing a home with multiple families and only two baths. We find the downstairs bathroom most convenient when there are a lot of people using the game room. We hope that you and your group will come again soon.
Sincerely,
The Stone Family

Gathering of Friends
August 27, 2012
Our group stayed at the Round House for a long weekend in August 2012. We had a group of 8 people for our annual motorcycle gathering. The location of the house is on a huge piece of land, but still very close to downtown Belfast. Our group took a day trip up to Acadia and Bar Harbor which was about an hour away. The house had all the amenities of home. We really enjoyed the dart board, wi-fi availability, and satellite TV. I would definitely recommend this house to anybody looking for a quiet relaxing vacation spot in Maine.

The Round House
August 26, 2012
Well we started our trip a little early for some site seeing showed up 2 hours early just to see where the house was,and met the cleaner and he was terrific. He said he was almost done and to come in and check out the house. Our first nite we had some drinks hung out and played games in game room with music that plays thru out the house. The house is perfectly located, close for groceries from downtown cities and towns. Just a wonderful experience we are sure to come back!
Owner's reply:
We will be especially happy to have your group as returning guests. It is great that you had a good time and were able to use the stereo to it's full potential. That is one of our favorite features of the house too.
We are glad you met up with our property manager, Eric Leppanen from aNeatNook. He represents the area residents well, being a local artist, with honesty and a down to earth, friendly demeanor.
Looking forward to hearing from you in the future.
Sincerely,
Dawn Stone

We LOVED this house!
August 16, 2012
Our family-my husband and I and 3 of our daughters stayed in this unique house for a week. We Loved everything about it! All 3 girls had their own bedrooms so there was no fighting there. They all LOVED the game room, and were highly spoiled by having sattelite, which we don't at home. They had the best time playing their dad in pool, darts, and air-hockey. It was lovely to take a nice, long, relaxing bath in the deep tub.It was also very nice the amount of privacy, by being out, but in reality was only like 5 min to shopping areas, and about 20 minutes to Lincolnville Beach, 1 1/2 hours to Acadia National Park. My family liked all the unique features of the house-yes, my husband is going to try to duplicate the loft-area at our house! The stone fire place areas were beautiful. Dawn Stone, the owner, was very accomidating and easy to work with-answered many of my questions very quickly. The whole family voted, and all really want to rent it again in the future.
Owner's reply:
We cannot thank you enough for the great review.
It is good to know that each unique aspect of the home made an impression on your family. The stone work was done by my husband’s mother, Nan. She was once stone mason, and she put extensive efforts into building this custom home.
I was happy to answer all of your questions before your arrival, we want to be sure our guests get the most out of their trip. We know from experience, vacations are to short.
We look forward to hearing from you in the future.
Sincerely, Dawn Stone

Beautiful House
August 4, 2012
Let me start by saying the house is a very unique and beautiful one. it is a bit smaller than the pictures make it appear, so maybe 8 people in it at one time is a little much. That is how many were in our get together. All adults. There are 5 beds, all at least doubles. The layout is open so that made it nice. the bathroom on the main floor was very nice. and the game room kept us all very happy with it's choice of pool, air hockey, ping pong, and darts. The bathroom in the basement was also convenient when we were in the game room. there is a washer and dryer which was very nice. There is a fire pit outside and we spent our evenings around it enjoying cocktails and talking. Very relaxing. The wood was provided which was also convenient. We were a very short drive from belfast and the Celtic Celebration was taking place, so we went to that as well. There were a couple of issues. The house advertised as having two showers. When we arrived we noticed the downstairs shower didnt work. I called the owner and left a message, he promptly returned my call. He said he was aware of the problem before, but do to miscommunication between owners, we hadnt been informed(Im not quoting, that was the jist). He said we was going to get a plummer out to look at it, but hadn't had time yet. One of the windows didnt open in the living room and in order to turn on the ceiling fan in the living room, we had to remove the knob and turn it really hard to get it to come on. The windows in the kitchen were easy to open, but extremely difficult to close. I also found it interesting that the house has no curtains at all in it, except for in the main bathroom(a half curtain). I didnt mind it in the living areas, but I wish I had had one in my bedroom as there is a long window that looks out onto the backyard where the table is and the back stairs come down by it. the sun also rises in that direction(at 4:30am that time of year). The only other issues were beyond the owners control. Ants in the house, I would imagine because of the dry summer, it tends to happen in most houses. Then there was the bat that enjoyed resting on the chimney during the day and teasing one of our female guests at night. One of the guys eventually got him out. Our overall experience at the Stone's house really was a positvie one, and although I wish they had informed us of the shower issue as it left 8 adults to share 1 shower, I would recommend this house highly for a smaller group of a family of 4 or 5.
Owner's reply:
We thank you for taking the time to write this review and are very happy you enjoyed your overall experience. Since your visit the downstairs shower in the sauna is back in service, our sincere apologies for not relaying the information to you prior to your visit. The ceiling fan switch will be replaced and windows will be oiled as well. We agree the few ants that have been seen in the house are due to the weather and prefer to use environmental friendly solutions to deter them. You may have noticed the bay leaves in the kitchen drawers for that purpose. We greatly appreciate that you were able to personally handle the “wildlife” issue with the visiting chimney bat. As for bedroom window treatments, the search to select window coverings is an ongoing effort. We have very limited choices due to the custom windows, angled walls, atmosphere and style of the Round House. The private location of the home does not require privacy curtains and we do not want anything that would take away from the natural exterior views and beautiful interior woodwork. However, we do understand the importance of sleeping in during your vacation so the search continues. Once a choice is made we will be sure to list window treatments in our home description. We are glad the weather cooperated so that you could enjoy sitting at the fire circle and hope you will consider coming back for a future visit.
Sincerely,
Dawn & Rob Stone

Loved the Roundhouse!!
May 29, 2012
My family and I loved the roundhouse!! Very quiet and secluded yet so close to downtown Belfast---a beautiful little seacoast town! At nighttime the kids loved the upstairs loft and bedroom, where they could look up and see the stars when going to sleep and they loved the huge downstairs during the day where they could play pingpong, darts and shoot pool!! Loved the fact that we passed Wicked Whoopie Pies on the way up (with the LARGEST whoopie pie I've ever seen) and a rest stop in Yarmouth Maine with the world's LARGEST rotating globe!!... Loved the roundhouse, loved Bellfast, LOVE MAINE! Can't wait to go back for a summer visit!! See you soon....!

I would recommend this place to anyone....Our family was just thrilled with all there is to do in the area and especially happy with how clean the house and cabin were! The food store was close and that was a plus as well. Our son has allergies and this made our stay very easy. My husband and I returned for a. trip a month later and enjoyed a weekend alone as well. We just hung out on the beach (short drive) during the day. and. had campfires at night and just enjoyed the peaceful setting....absolutely beautiful!
