Within the Poconos are encompassed the Delaware State Forest, the Delaware Water Gap and, to the south, the beginning of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the famous Appalachian Trail tucked within the beauty of the mountains. Skiing is perhaps the most popular recreational way to enjoy the Poconos in terms of the number of runs is the Camelback Ski Area, followed closely by the Blue mountain ski area features the longest vertical drop among Pocono skiing. Gambling has also recently been legalized within the state of Pennsylvania, and a number of Pocono hotels have sprung up close to Pennsylvania Casinos in the area, which tend to feature slots, video poker and various harness and thoroughbred racing. Golfing is another popular pursuit in the Pocono Mountains, where there are a few excellent courses. The Pocono Raceway is another attraction, which brings two annual NASCAR races.

This place is very comfortable and easy to stay at. Sue is amazing from the first contact through checkout. The pictures do not do justice on the condition or size of the place. Its literally a five minute drive at most to Camelback.

We loved the space, very close to the slopes, and the price was very reasonable. Owner was very helpful and always available by phone and email. We highly recommend this property, and will hopefully stay here again the future!

We rented both lodges from the Garvey family and the accommodations couldn't have been better. It is a sure bet that this will be an annual trip for this group. Looking forward to many more memories at Ski Side Lodges.

7/2/2010 Walker - Walker family along with the McVey family came to celebrate the 4th July weekend. Weather was great, went to the pool today, Water Park tomorrow all day - what a great deal being a guest of the lodge $25 per person - 8 0f us ready for the slides! Fireworks and Outlets!! Place very warm and accommodating, nicely decorated for the holiday, all in all a good trip, will go sightseeing today looking for the baby bears!

Thank you for the accomodations, it was everything you said - clean, well stocked and nicely decorated. Your extra Valentine touches were very nice. Most of all, thank you for your flexibility with us in light of the storm conditions we had. Even though every thing worked out according to schedule your willingness to be flexible was much appreciated.
