Description of the Taos vacation cabin rental
Require about additional cabins, we have ten casitas and cottages for rent. Our farm is nestled in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains in close proximity to Taos (11 miles) and It is only thirty minutes to Taos Ski Valley and Red River.

We raise organic goji berries and have baby chicks and miniature goats. We also have an eco-lodge with rustic log cabins and adobe casitas for rent short and longer term.

The cabins are surrounded by national forest and the land has creeks, ponds, aspens and cottonwood trees, flower gardens, stone paths, goji, raspberry and apple orchards and great views of the mountains.

Our cabins have different sizes and price ranges and offer a great country retreat for writers and artists, couples or friends who seek solitude and families who would like to experience living on a farm. It is a great place to just to to kick back in, take walks or fish and cement a relationship, The farm is also a bird sanctuary and a couple of dedicated bird watchers counted up tp 100 different species! There is a play ground outside and we are adding animals to our petting zoo

The log cabins were built to house sheep herders at the turn of last century. Aldous Huxley and D.H. Lawrence lived and wrote here. The cabins have been renovated and are furnished, each with a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. Drinking water comes from our deep wells. The cabins have full, queen or single beds. Togehter the cabins and casitas can accomodate a group or a large family or just a couple of friends, depending on needs.

During the summer we have fresh, organic vegetables available to guests and in the fall there are plenty of apples to pick. We also have chickens and in mid-April, gourmet breakfasts and dinners are available at extra charge. Massages, baby sitting and horse trail rides are available by appointment.

We are located in the countryside and city slickers may be dismayed by the lack of street lights and the quietude at night. Our internet connection is not always reliable. It gets spotty during rain storms and snow. Depending on your cell phone provider you may have to drive or walk a few feet to the post office or up the road to get reception. (We have several landlines to enable connection anywhere in the U.S.) We’re not a motel or hotel: these are clean, green and rustic country cabins, a perfect place for creative individuals who desire to take a break from the hustle and bustle of civilization or to bring your children to appreciate country living. This is also an introduction to camping or glamping for families who want a degree of country comfort. This is a place to get away from the TV and computer games. Don't panic, Taos is a 15 minute drive away!

Area Info
Taos Ski Valley reminds us of the Swiss/French/Austrian founders' roots blended with the traditions and customs of the local Hispanic and Pueblo Indian cultures. Being the home of extreme skiing, this is just not a resort for experts, with many beginner and intermediate runs. The ski school is one of the nation's best. It also has an excellent children's day care and ski facility, both skiers and snowboarders are welcome.
Taos is home to more than twenty sites on the National Register of Historic Places. The Taos Pueblo has been occupied for nearly a millennium and is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the Unites States. The Taos Pueblo was added as an Unesco World Heritage Site in 1992 as one of the most significant historical cultural landmarks in the world;
