My wife and I spent six nights here for our thirtieth anniversary and what a great choice it turned out to be. This place just oozes charm, character and individuality and provides a wonderful relaxing environment to unwind in. The house itself is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood that is only a stones throw from the Sponge Docks and the quaint old quarter. Staying here you feel that you are seeing something of the real town while being close to the things you look for while on vacation, like good restaurants and beaches etc. We rented the cottage, which is set off a little way from the main house and has it's own cute little yard with garden furniture, and even a white picket fence! The cottage is furnished with an eclectic, but very pleasing, mix of antique and vintage pieces and generously equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay - big comfy double bed, walk in monsoon shower, efficient air con, full size fridge-freezer and stove, microwave, toaster, blender and all the other bits and pieces you need to cook properly. Our experience of the breakfasts that are served in the main house was that they are home cooked, wholsome, plentiful and utterly delicious. The best thing about staying here though is Barbara and Larry who are, quite simply, the perfct hosts. Warm and genuie, they are ready to help in any way they can but always respectful of your privacy so you can really make yourself at home. All in all highly recommended.
