Laura's villa is an extraordinarily tastefully and impeccably designed country house. The villa was built at the beginning of the 1800s. Recently the interior and exterior have been authentically restored - an excellently performed restoration!
The furniture is sober and simple: only the necessary furnishings are there, but exclusively the most valuable. The beautiful furniture from bygone days is unadorned and made of oak, and harmonises with the antique stone, the terracotta floor and the warm shades of the roof beams, all creating a very nostalgic country atmosphere. Visitors can relax and enjoy the picturesque surrounding - the rooms are reminiscent of paintings

Art lovers will be exposed to an illimited choice of interesting excurtions. Florence and Siena above all, but also a number of medieval villages as Certaldo, San Gimignano and Colle Val d'Elsa are to be found in the nearest vicinity. Food lovers will no doubt succumb to the sophisticated simplicity of Tuscan cuisine. Fine trattorias, restaurants and a supermarket can be found in Montespertoli - in less than a 10 minutes drive.

Area Description

The medieval village of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, located on the road between Siena and Florence, is five kilometers from the property. In addition to shops, restaurants, and markets, Tavarnelle has a rich heritage and many ancient buildings, much like the entire Chianti region. The main sights include the church of Santa Lucia at Borghetto, Saint Peter’s Church at Bossolo, and the Museum of Holy Art. Each July, a summer festival is held featuring live music and theater shows as well as markets offering tastes of local recipes and dishes. San Gimignano is a great place to go for a day trip. Popular attractions include the famous towers, the 12th century Duomo, the People's Palace, and several museums dedicated to artwork and archeology. There are also plenty of wine tasting tours, art galleries, shops, and delicious restaurants. Numerous celebrations and gatherings are held every year including a music festival featuring theater, ballet, and opera performances, and a Medieval Harvest festival where the people of San Gimignano dress up as knights and play medieval games and have tournaments. Naturally, you’ll also want to take day trips to the other famous cities such as Florence, Siena, and Arezzo.
