Relaxing in The Keys

We spotted Casa del Sol while visiting Tavernier last year, contacted the owner and made arrangements for a month long rental this February and March. All I can say is that we made the right decision! Casa del Sol is everything that you see in the promo photos and more. The house itself shows a little age, but everything was neat, clean, easy to find, easy to use and perfectly comfortable. We entertained friends from the area as well as visitors from home and everyone was favorably impressed, but the best thing of all is the view from the deck out over the Gulf at sunset which is worth at least a million bucks. We had boating right off of our dock, were convenient to wonderful restaurants, the freshest local sea food imaginable and plenty of entertainment, but the best thing was to be able just to relax on the deck with a book or just sun in almost total privacy. Sometimes a little adversity can negatively affect a visit, but if handled in the right way, it can be a positive thing. We lost our internet service on the premises after about a week and had great difficulty getting the current provider to get us reconnected. Long story short, I contacted the owner and he immediately contacted a new (and much faster and better) cable provider that solved our problem. That type of service and concern meant a lot, as if we were in a 5 star hotel. Casa del Sol is located in a little residential community called Hammer Point, which has numerous side streets on canals and offers a wonderful walking tour. We met permanent residents, week-end owners and snow birders, all of whom were friendly and just enjoyable to be around. We even had one gentleman who lives in Hammer Point about 7 months out of the year come by the morning of our departure to see us off. All in all, our stay at Casa del Sol was the nicest and most enjoyable vacation we have ever had. We are looking forward to coming back again, hopefully next year; perhaps for two months !!

Great location, this property had everything you would need on vacation. Gorgeous view, jacuzzi, paddle boats, kayaks, boat dock, hammocks, etc. We were only inside to sleep, the owner made everything easy would definitely vacation there again.

This house has a very good location if you are looking for ease accces to water, beautiful sunsets and good space for kids to play on the deck while the adult sit and relax on the bottom flour.
