Description of the Telchac Puerto vacation villa rental
that our Villa de Brisas Marinas - Sea Breeze Villa - is just the
place. We discovered the charming fishing village of Telchac Puerto
and would like to share our beautiful, new home there with you.
The villa is set steps from the Gulf of Mexico with beach weather all
year round. As you enter the front gate
through the covered patio with its lovely mosaic floor, to the gate
to the beach, you will be on your way to paradise. Sit under our
beachfront palapa and enjoy the blue water and white sand and no
crowds!
You will enjoy the open floor plan designed and tastefully appointed
by local architect, Gabriela Cornelio. From Mexican tile floors, the
5 sliding glass doors to the exquisite tile accents in the kitchen
and baths, you are surrounded by the beauty of the sea and the charm
of local decor. The living/dining area is spacious and opens with
two sets of sliding glass doors to a covered patio overlooking our
private beach. We provide all that you need from linens to a well-
equipped kitchen. We placed a gas cooktop in the counter, so that if
you choose, you may prepare a meal while enjoying the ocean view and
the company of your friends and family. It also has a split-system air conditioner that
not only cools this area, but the first floor bedroom as well.
We have four bedrooms, all with ceiling fans, and three full
bathrooms. The first floor bedroom has twin beds and a TV/DVD
player. We have supplied some of our favorite movies. The second
floor has two bedrooms with queen size beds; one room has a balcony. These bedrooms share a bath. The expansive
master bedroom with king bed, ensuite bath and large walk-in closet overlooks the master balcony. The balcony has a breathtaking view of the beach and Gulf
of Mexico. Each of the second floor bedrooms has its own, split-system air conditioner.
Area Information
walk to the center plaza along the beach, or walk or drive the main
road into town. There are small markets with fruits and veggies, a
bakery, a high-speed internet cafe, liquor stores, a hardware store,
restaurants and other small markets.
We hope you spend your time relaxing, swimming, strolling the beach,
enjoying the birds and shell collecting. The beaches are wide and
inviting and the water is warm and safe. The Mayan culture is
everywhere from X-Cambo (a 10 minute drive) or Dzibichaltun (30
minutes) to Chichen Itza (about 1 1/2 hours) and many others. You can
also explore the many villages that are nearby. You may choose to
spend a day in the lovely city of Merida (45 minutes), especially the
historic center on Sundays when local artisans display in the main
square. Merida, the capital city of the Yucatan (Pop. 1 million), offers
beautiful colonial architecture, parks, museums, restaurants and
shopping, and if you must, Wal Mart, Costco, JC Penney, Sears, fast
food, etc. The port city of Progreso (25 minutes) is where the
cruise ships dock, with a mile-long pier. Along the Gulf in
Progreso, you may walk the Malecon and enjoy a variety of shops and
restaurants.
Our property manager, who is fluent in English and Spanish, may
arrange fishing trips or lazy rides through the nearby lagoons to
visit the cenotes (underground springs) where you can view flamingos
and many other birds and wildlife. She can also arrange to have someone cook for you, and do daily
cleaning, if you prefer. These services are not part of the rental fee. We also have a caretaker
nearby.

Other Vacation Rental Amenities
The port city of Progreso (25 minutes) is where the cruise ships dock, with a mile-long pier. Along the Gulf in Progreso, you may walk the Malecon and enjoy a variety of shops and restaurants. Progreso also has a huge, new modern supermarket that offers food, baked goods, and a pharmacy, as well as clothing, hardware and other amenities.
Motul, about 20 minutes south of Telchac Puerto, offers an interesting marketplace with food and some clothing, and also has a substantial supermarket. You might also find it interesting to explore some of the smaller colonial towns in the area, like Chicxulub, Telchac Pueblo, Sinanche, Chabihau, Dzilam de Bravo, Dzilam Gonzales, Dzidzantun, San Crisanto, Santa Clara, Izamal and Dzemul. If you are ambitious, you might take a ride to Ticul known for its pottery and shoes or Oxkutzcab, the primary produce town of the area. Celestun is also a beautiful town known for its ecotourism and flamingos.
Owner Supplied Testimonials

I spent the month of January, 2011 at the villa and didn't want to come home. The listing details and photos are completely accurate. If anything, I found the villa to be more impressive than the pictures depicted. Spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The owners were extremely helpful and provided tips and information that I found invaluable. The location is fairly remote, so a car is necessary. We took several side trips to visit various ruins, cenotes and nearby towns. The local population was very friendly and accommodating. I was pleasantly surprised to find so many good restaurants along the way. Yucatean food is excellent. The caretaker, Manuel, also will deliver excellent dishes to the villa at very reasonable prices. The villa is located on a very quiet and serene stretch of beach that provides almost complete privacy. If you are interested in active night life, this is not the place. You would have to drive into Progresso or Merida for nighttime activities. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway with some cultural trips on the side, I would highly recommend Villa De Brisas Marinas.
Jerry F., Livonia, MI
There were three couples in our paty. We arrived on Dec. 26th, rented two cars at the Cancun Airport, and drove to the villa. We were amazed at the beautiful Mexican highway systems, the well-marked roads and the exact directions we received form our hosts. The villa was spotlessly clean, very spacious with plenty of room for us to spread out. We became friends with the handyman who cares for the villa--such a nice man! He cooked 2 delicious meals for us and took the men fishing in his Panga. The town was very close to the villa and we all enjoyed eating at the little restaurants and meeting the friendy residents. You won't be disappointed if you choose this beautiful villa in this quaint little village!
Lee B.--Virginia Beach, VA
My sister and I stayed there in 2008. I think it is one of the most relaxing places I have ever been. The Villa is absolutley beautiful and you do not have to go to far to shop for groceries. We got Manuel to cook for us and that was an added plus. What I loved most about staying in the Villa is the peacefullness and the beautiful sunsets from the villa. I wish I was there now!
Nicole T., Austin,TX
"We are quite happy with our stay. We felt safe and well cared for. Manuel was a peach and took us on a nice fishing trip and brought us great ceviche and snacks. We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to recommend your villa." -- Jim S., Snohomish, WA
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa de Brisas Marinas last January. We felt like we were in paradise. We liked all the restaurants nearby, as well as the charming community.
-- Gayle P., Willowbrook, IL
Nancy, I just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our Christmas vacation at your villa. It was very relaxing. Manuel was wonderful!
-- Mary Beth O., Atlanta, GA
Wow! A beautiful house in a beautiful place, with a beautiful view. The beach is so inviting, clean and practically uninhabited. The whole environment is so safe, quiet, relaxing and serene. We took day trips to ruins, cenotes and wildlife reserves, as well as visiting local towns for dinner and culture. The house has great spaces for privacy or communal eating and hanging out. Everyone associated with the rental was helpful and friendly. It's really the perfect place to do nothing, or explore this part of Mexico.
-- Dan R., Los Angeles, CA
"John and I just want to thank-you for sharing your beautiful villa with us. The pictures were nice but I really couldn't believe my eyes when lovely Manuel opened the door for us. We awoke and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean every day." -- P. Charron, Ottawa, Canada
