Located at 1515 Pinellas Bayway S. on Tierra Verde our complex lies on the East shore of the Island, offering vistas of Tampa Bay and near-shore islands.Ten minutes away from the hustle and bustle of St. Pete Beach,the property is situated in the midst of a marine eco-park. Mangrove islands provide rookeries for many of Florida's local and migratory birds and the lagoons and shallows between the keys are full of sea life. The bridge to Ft.DeSoto Park (in 2005 its North Beach had the distinction of being named the #1 beach in the U.S.)is less than a mile to the south. The view from your top floor suite is captivating. On any day you may see dolphins, a manatee, or an osprey diving for fish or enjoy the company of a snowy egret looking for a handout while you are relaxing on the balcony. If you're feeling peckish yourself after playing on the courts or testing the surf, try one of the half-dozen eateries nestled in the Tierra Verde Town Center, just a block away. Billy's Stone Crab Restaurant and the Island Grill offer waterfront dining and and views of the Gulf while several other venues offer Italian, German, Continental and Chinese food for additional variety. If 'al fresco' dining is your pleasure, you can take your steaks & ribs and BBQ them on the picnic deck by the pool. Although next door to the bustling beach communities,Tierra Verde and its neighboring park and wilderness islands are a world apart from the greater Tampa Bay area. Tierra Verde is the only developed island in a chain extending south from Isla del Sol to the Gulf of Mexico, bordered by Tampa Bay on its eastern shore and by small keys with pristine beaches on the Gulf side. This marine preserve and bird sanctuary is best explored by canoe or kayak as portions of the area are not open to motorised traffic. Don't have a watercraft? You can rent a canoe or kayak in Ft. Desoto Park or seadoos and powerboats at the island marina. A water taxi is also available from Pasagrille's Merry Pier to Shell Key (great beaching and shelling) and a ferry service runs from Ft. Desoto park to historical Egmont Key. Billy's Seafod Restaurant also has a complementary tour of
the adjacent lagoon for its patrons.

Cross two Intracoastal bridges and you can access all the amenities of a large metropolitan area. Nightlife and dining along the length of Gulf Blvd. Shopping at Tyrone Mall and the Ellenton Outlets. Major league sports, dozens of golf courses and our famous local theme park, Busch Gardens, can be enjoyed within a 45 min. drive. Disneyworld,Universal Studios and Seaworld are a manageable 1.5 hr drive when the kids want a break from the beach.

Local amenities are handy - but a car is essential. The nearest chain supermarkets are off-island (choice of 3 within 15 min.) all located in shopping centers with add'l retail shops and services. The north end of Tierra Verde has a small plaza which is being re-developed. A hardware store, bait shop, realtor, marina office and 2 gas stations with convenience store are in the current mix. Off island, look to Tyrone Mall for the nearest major shopping (20-25min) with big box stores on the periphery. For outlet shopping follow I-275 south over Tampa Bay via the Sunshine Skyway and look for the shops at the Ellenton exit. In the case of a medical emergency there are several hospitals and clinics within a 20 min. drive and 3 pharmacies within 15 min. If you are planning to arrive by car, locating us is an easy proposition. When driving south through St. Petersburg the Pinellas Bayway is the last exit off I-275 before crossing Tampa Bay. Follow the Bayway for 2 lights and turn left to cross the Intracoastal bridge to Tierra Verde. If you're flying in, we are serviced by three international airports, all less than an hour's drive from our complex: Tampa International and St.Pete/Clearwater are approx 30-40 min and Sarasota/Bradenton 45--50 min away.
