Description of the Tierra del Mar vacation home rental
The house has been completely remodeled, with hardwood interiors, lots of skylights and vaulted ceilings. The huge master bedroom (king-sized bed) offers a stunning view of the woods through the floor-to-ceiling picture windows making up three sides of the room. There is also a second bedroom with a double bed and the living room has a double hideabed. A single rollaway bed is also available. A "kid's bunkhouse" sleeps 2-3 and adjoins the deck near the bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped (including microwave, coffee-maker etc). A barbecue is available. The living room has a fireplace and there is rainy-day entertainment ranging from books to the VCR to a motley collection of kid's toys & games.
Area Information
The house is 1 block from the beach, backing on State Forestland in the isolated community of Tierra Del Mar (halfway between Tillamook and Lincoln City, near Pacific City, due west of Portland). Tierra Del Mar is located in the middle of a very quiet 8-mile stretch of white sandy beach. At one end of the beach is an estuary where you can spot everything from herons to seals to eagles. At the other end of the beach is the rarely visited north side of majestic Cape Kiwanda.

Quality Family time
April 22, 2013
We enjoyed staying at Idyllic Beach House in Tierra del mar Oregon. The house was surrounded by woods with the beach across the street. Although it rained most fo the trip we still had a wonderful time. They had lots of board games and the children played nicely (not like at home). The kitchen is nicely stocked with all the cooking untesils ,pots, pans and dishes you could possibly need. The Master bedroom is onderful Large with pleanty of windows and a deck for your morning coffee. The beach was great and there was no one else on it. We flew kites and played frisbee. The dogs to labs had a wonderful time running the beach and chasing sea gulls. The house has Wifi but no cable which we did not mind as we were there to enjoy each other and connect with out the everyday distractions we have at home

Such a nice house, huge master bedroom!

Thanks for letting us stay at your beautiful beach house. We had a blast! I love the beach. a rare section of sand on the Oregon coast. So close & really one of the nicer beaches on the OC. The master bedroom, wow!

Wonderful stay
October 7, 2010
We so enjoyed staying at Susy's Pier Street house! Our little dogs really enjoyed being able to run around in the fenced backyard after trekking 2,000 miles in a car. We loved the neat house, Oregon coastline, beaches, and relative quietness of the area. The proximity to Pacific City made it perfect to run out for a local brew whenever we wanted. The only reason this stay gets four stars instead of five is because it rained the entire time we were there. We know Oregon rains a lot, but we'd heard mid-September would be the LEAST likely time for this to occur so were a bit bummed about that. It was still a wonderful trip and we hope to be back again soon!

VERY, very, very secluded!
July 27, 2009
This house was darling! There are a few things that were a HUGE inconvenience: NO TOWELS of any kind were provided. We flew from Arizona to stay here, so it was a big surprise to not have that necessity. And there is no cable tv!!! You won't have cell service - guaranteed! Its so secluded that you feel isolated from the rest of the world. The beach is nice, with very few people and since its set in a cove, there is little wind!! I probably wouldn't stay here again only b/c of the secludedness of it all!
Owner's reply:
Thanks for what is overall a very nice review. I think the things you may have found unnerving - the fact that the house and Tierra del Mar are very secluded - are precisely the things many people are looking for. As a note, the facts that there are no towels provided, no cable television, and that cell phones do not work are explained in detail in the information sheet we provide to all renters. We do have a land-line for our guests' use. (Since so many people have asked us about towels from reading this review: the only reason I don't provide them is because the housecleaner would have to stay an extra hour each time just to run the load of towels, the cost of which would have to be passed onto the renters.) - Cheers, Susy.
Owner Supplied Testimonials

5/22/12: My two daughters, my three german shepherds and I stayed at Susy's Guardenia house the second week of May. We had almost perfect weather for a week on the coast, which is a miracle! We loved the nearby beach for running, playing and photographing. I got some stunning pictures of the early morning surf striking the beach! The house was perfect! Very clean, very comfortable...so much better than a motel. I have been wanting to come to Oregon and stay near the beach for 3 years, but having 3 spoiled german shepherds who will not eat unless I feed them presented a problem. Susy graciously allowed me to bring my dogs, who stay by my side whether I am indoors or outdoors. The accomodations were more than perfect, and a smile never left my face while I was there. I recommend this place to any who desire privacy, convenience, comfort...all at a reasonable price. Thank you, Susy.

4-8-12: My daughter, grandson and two of his friends, from Sheridan, OR, spent 4 nights and 5 days, March 28 to April 1. Weather was lousy, but the boys enjoyed running to the beach anyway. The house is very cosy, especially with a fire in fireplace. So I was content to just sit there and read my book, and spending quality time with my daughter. An enjoyable time by all. - Shirley Briscoe, Olympia, WA
3-25-12: Upon entering the Pier St. House, we were immediately struck by how comfortable it looked. The open space design, loft-like bedrooms, over-stuffed furniture, lots of windows and well equipped kitchen declared: "Welcome home". The mud room and fenced back yard were put to good use by our wet dogs. The close proximity to the abundant recreational activities was icing on the cake. The Three Capes Loop is one of Oregon's best places to explore. And what's not to like about being less than a block from an uncluttered beach? Thank you, Susy, for providing such an impeccably well maintained house. You obviously understand how to make strangers feel appreciated.

3-11-12 - We had a great stay at the Pier House for my
birthday. Lots of friends and tons of good food
made it a weekend to remember, and we were
amazed how easily the house accommodated our
group. We did puzzles, walked on the beach with
our dog, made cozy fires, and commented on how
nice and dry and clean the place was; no damp
feeling that sometimes is found in coastal rentals.
Would love to come again in the future. It was a
little difficult with no cell signal as we had friends
coming from various directions and then had
various activities to coordinate throughout the
day, but Susie the host definitely was clear about
this before our stay so we did our best to think
ahead (or just live on relaxed coastal time). (:
Thanks Susie for keeping up a great house!
2-15-12: I've been coming to this great house for many years and consider it my home away from home. The house is very comfortable, the setting is beautiful and private, and the
beach has some fabulous birdwatching. - Tami, Portland OR
1-4-12: On a whim my husband and I decided to make an attempt to spend New Years weekend on the Oregon Coast. Luckily there was a cancellation and we spent 3 nights at the Pier House. We had a wonderful time! The weather was incredible on Sunday, sunny and mid 60s, we spent most of the day on the beach. We walked all the way to where Pelican Brewery is, and ate baja style fish tacos from BJ's - they tasted like heaven. Reminded me of the kind I'd get growing up in San Diego. Beach access is very close, which made popping in and out easy. The house was very comfortable, we enjoyed the no-frills casual decor and especially the mud room for easy beach cleanup, also equipped with a doggy door. Was perfect with our 3 year old Weimaraner. We also enjoyed the wood stove - it really heat the place up and we didn't need to use the electric heating at all. We were able to fully relax and now feel rejuvenated from the weekend. Highly recommend! We will definitely remember this place for future stays. - Brianna
1/9/12: We rented both of these wonderful houses for a small family reunion over the winter holidays. Having both houses was wonderful. An easy short walk between the two. Guardenia was perfect for relaxing and reading around the big firplace. Pier was perfect for large group meals in the large spacious open kitchen. Both houses were warm and welcoming. Really felt like being at home. The large master in Guardenia is fantastic. Three sides of windows and sky lights It was a great place to be on a stormy windy night! Can't wait to return in the spring - can't imagine ever staying anywhere else on the coast again! Thanks you Susy for creating this little oasis.

12-16-11: Susy has created a friendly and welcoming home for guests. We found it to be VERY tidy and cozy, with such a wide selection of books (from childrens selections, to mysteries and popular fiction, to Poe and classics!). There are also a lot of games, so check in with Susy before you pack yours! We LOVED that the TV is not the central part of the living room. We found ourselves visiting much more than have when the families shared a house with a big TV. The beach is a very plesant/short walk, and it's a really nice stretch of sand and water. We saw a baby seal, rabbits, deer, and even some sheep on the road. It was a great place, rain or shine (we were lucky enough to have both), and the house had everything we needed (thank you for extra blankets and pillows :)
We spent Thanksgiving there (two families) and the teen girls loved having their "own place" with the bunkhouse. I usually like to find new places for adventures, but we liked this home so much that we'll surely be back in spring or summer, so we can enjoy nearby kayaking and hiking. Thanks, to, to Suzy for making it all EASY!

9-6-11: Fantastic hidden gem of the Oregon coastline. Truly a place to immerse yourself in tranquility. Will definitely look forward to repeating the trip.

11-16-11: We had a GREAT time at the Pier Street House. This is our second stay and I have to say the beach cannot be beat! It's close, beautiful and private. The house is good for people and great for dogs. The dining table is spacious enough for 8 people to eat meals together and enjoy some games afterward. I will definitely rent again!!!
-Linda Flatt, Vancouver, WA
12-14-11: We just stayed at Pier St. House for 5 days (Dec. 2011) and as always, it was a wonderful, relaxing experience. We try to return every year. Had great weather- sunny and no wind, and had some good clam digging at nearby Whalen Island. Our young lab loves the doggie door and running for miles on the empty beach (we saw almost no one). The sun poured through all the S. windows making the living area very cheery, even in winter. The house was spotless and the kitchen is well equipped (unlike many rentals). The neigborhood is so quiet and the beach so close it is impossible not to relax!
-Margie Arighi, Oregon City, OR
9-26-11: We just spent 12 days at the house, our second stay in 18 months. We encourage you to stay here if you are travelling with people you truly love and enjoy being around. It's a nice quiet, secluded place to enjoy each other and relax on the beach or hike and explore the three capes. For those needing more "action" (i.e. teenagers) you can drive a few miles south to Pacific City where there's lots of activities.
It's also an excellent place for foodies as there are lots of slow food producers in the area. We hope to make this escape an annual one for us.
If you want to escape from your crazy City life, then this is THE only place to stay on the Oregon Coast.
It's well worth the 5-hour drive from Seattle.
-Karen Therese, Seattle, WA
9-19-11: Stayed here the two nights and could not have been more pleased. The property is great and the owner friendly. A block from the beach in the quiet woods. So beautiful. Will not forget this one! - David Beegle, Salem, OR
7-14-11: We had a wonderful and relaxing time at the Pier house! It was great being able to cook our meals in the large kitchen. As a dog owner, it was fantastic having a fenced yard for my dogs. We absoulutly plan on returning to the Pier house in the future.
-The Fromm's (and our dogs), Newberg, Oregon
10-10-2010: We just spent a wonderful weekend with our family at the Pier Street house. It is so close to the beach, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It is a beautiful beach and there were not many people. When it rained, we drove into Pacific City and enjoyed some of the shops, or stayed at the house and played games. My "grandogs" loved the place as well. I recommend Los Corporales for the excellent Mexican/seafood. Thank you Susy for being so easy to work with!

11-14-2010: I had a most relaxing time with my two dogs at the Pier Street House. It is a very peaceful, quite area. The house was comfortable and clean. The weather was suppose to be stormy so I lucked out Friday when it was sunny and 60s!! I ran up the beach to the estuary and back. The Greatful Bread is wonderful. All in all a most refreshing little getaway.

1-21-11: Our trip out to the coast was a mix of bitter and sweet. We learned a few weeks ago that our 5 year old Rotti has bone cancer, with only a short time left before we will lose him forever. I found this wonderful house in a pet magazine a few months ago. I contacted Susy to make arrangements to spend one last family vacation together. I can't even find enough words to say how warm and wonderful she is! I just knew that the house would have that same feeling! We arrived at night during a terrible storm and quickly got us all in and unpacked. The heat came on quickly and we soon snuggled up on the couches and cooked up dinner. Unfortunately, my "city boy" husband (and myself) couldn't get a good fire going, but the fireplace and living room are perfect to curl up to and read a good book. It rained terribly all weekend, which was just fine with us. We spent the whole time talking and snuggling with our baby boy. It was perfect! When we first got there and saw there was no cable (already knowing there was no wifi or cell service) we were a little disappointed, but quickly realized it was PERFECT and just what we needed! We are big movie watchers and discovered a bunch of good films in the cabinet. I happen to be a little older than my husband (by 10 years :) and we recently got married. Our entrance song to our reception was "Mrs. Robinson" from the graduate (although neither one of us had ever seen it), to our surprise it was there. We watched it and had a blast laughing. It was great! I wish I could say more about the area for new comers, but to be honest we didn't leave the house very much. A quick run to get lattes in the morning (Stimulus Cafe is great and the owner is so friendly!) and to the market a couple times, but that was all. The weather was pretty bad - but that just says how comfy the house was, since we had a great time! Susy and the house are just wonderful! Loved our weekend! It's hard to think of saying goodbye to our Rotti, but we have so many wonderful memories, especially last weekend! We THANK Susy for everything! We highly recommend her house to anyone with doggies!

2-17-11: Curious about the neighbor's concrete structure, and they not being home, I walked over to investigate. Rounding one of the shrubs in the drive, I came smack dab up against a deer who was grazing the grass pad on top of the structure. Not wishing to offend, but thoroughly taken by our proximity, I spoke to her while she fixed me with a rude stare. Not wishing to be inhospitable, I offered her the only thing I had, a dog treat. I spoke politely, offering her the treat, almost putting my hand to her mouth. Her notstrils flared. She scratched her flank. Taking one backward step, she took my measure. Continuing to speak, hoping to pass muster, I wondered how to both prolong this and fetch my husband. Finally, impatient with my continual nattering, she moved to the other end, took up her grazing, and dismissed me. I went to get my husband, but by the time I returned, she was gone. Did he doubt my veracity? We spent the next two mornings lying abed, hoping to be spectators at another spectacle of deer.

Our stay at the Pier Street House was really wonderful! We were there for 4 nights in July 2010 - 3 adults, 4 kids, and 2 (well behaved) dogs. The house gave us the perfect space to relax, play games, enjoy good food, and then relax some more. The utility room set up and fenced yard make it easy to include for family dog (a must for us). It's so close to the beach - and the beach is incredible! Not crowded, beautiful, and seemingly endless. We walked down the beach and over the dune for coffee in Pacific City each morning.
We'll definitely be back.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Guardenia House in Tierra Del Mar. It was like having a little piece of heaven for the week. We especially loved having such a quiet piece of the ocean away from all the more commercialized beach areas but yet close enough to these places to explore as well. This was the perfect place to vacation with our dogs - very quiet, private and a beautiful location as well as miles of ocean shore to walk and explore. Cape Kiwanda is magnificent and Tiera del Mar is a perfect location for photography lovers; every day brings new photo opportunities along the ocean with the changes in the environment. The Guardenia House was great; the master bedroom was especially awesome as it overlooks a beautiful huge deck and pathway into the forest where you can sit on a lovely bench and be able to listen to all the lovely birds singing.
The Guardenia House and Tiera del Mar is one of the Oregon Coast's best kept secrets.

I stayed in this beach house last October 2009 and am embarrassed to say that it has taken me this long to sit down and put into words just how much I enjoyed it.
As a business owner for a dog daycare and boarding in Beaverton, I don't get out much due to time restraints. So when the time came for me to finally get a little R&R, I contacted Suzy to set up my time at the Pier Street House. This was my first time here and of course when you consider what type of job I do; I have my own dogs that needed to come with me for some fun beach and mommy time.
Suzy's place was everything I hoped it would be, clean, comfortable and very homey. The fenced back yard was perfect for those late night doggie potty breaks and I did not need to leash my dogs up and stand out in the rain with them, yea!
The weather was stormy for a fair amount of the 3 nights I spent here, but the woodstove kept us all cozy and warm and I could just feel my stress level drop with each day I stayed. My only regret is that I did not have the time to stay longer.
I may not be able to take many trips like this one for myself, but I will be back!
Thanks Suzy!

What a beautiful getaway! Not our first stay with you, but our first in the Pier Street House...which put us in dangerous proximity to the Rock Shop which of course has everything from petrified wood to opals. We spent hours on the beach enjoying the ocean's many moods; my (Carol) favorite at dusk with fog descending and sand swirling up so you can hardly tell where the ocean begins. The fireplace and lovely, comfy living room made evenings cozy too. Love the book and game collection! We're SO looking forward to our next visit. -- Ed and Carol
Guardenia House is a great place to stay in Tierra del Mar, a wonderful little dip in the road along the central Oregon Coast. Situated on the NE corner of the Three Capes Scenic Highway and Guardenia St., the home is nestled in the woods, off the road and has great privacy with only one neighbor in view. Being dog friendly, the atmosphere is very relaxed & casual but plenty comfortable for a beach house. The master bedroom takes the cake with cathedral ceilings and windows from bottom to top which make you feel like you're camping-out in the comfort of the cozy indoors. Beach access is a short, 1 block walk down Guardenia St. and a walk North along the flat and wide white sand takes you quickly beyond the beachfront housing to a very remote and beautiful stretch of beach. Such a relaxing and special place & a great vacation rental.

Another lovely trip to Pier Street -- it's our favorite beach house! Crack the window in the bedroom for the sounds of the ocean to lull you to sleep...haul out the DVD player after the baby is asleep for a cozy movie and glass of wine...appreciate the big open floorplan on the 1st floor and the washer and dryer are a MUST with a 1-yr-old in tow. We really appreciate the fenced yard and doggie door for our pooches, too. Instant 'mellow' as we arrive in Tierra del Mar, and we are already working on plans for a return trip! Thanks again, Jane

Loved the Pier St. house! Tierra del Mar is our
favorite Pacific coast beach and your Pier St. house
is now our favorite beach home! Clean,
comfortable, cozy with all of the amenities you
could want. Really appreciated the fenced back
yard and doggie door and the abundance of kitchen
ware to make hearty meals.
The rock shop across the street was great and the
owner fascinating to talk to.
We are already looking forward to our next relaxing
vacation at the house with family and pets!
The owners are fabulous to rent from and they keep
VERY nice rental homes both at Pier St and Gardenia
in Tierra del Mar. You won't be disappointed!

We have spent two weeks in this home, and we love it. It is very comfortable and clean. The queen beds upstairs are extremely comfortable, and the kids love the double bunk beds downstairs. The beach is just a short walk away, with no traffic or busy roads to cross. The back yard and covered back porch are great for our yellow lab. We really appreciate the large laundry room with plenty of space for hanging up wet things. This house is our "Home away from Home!"

We had a great time at the Pier St. House. We love
the close proximity to the beach, the quiet of Tierra
Del Mar, and of course the house itself. It is very
comfortable and lends itself to groups big and
small. We have been here many times and in all
seasons and have always thought each time is
special. We will be back.

I LOVE both of these homes. In fact since I found out about them (years ago now) they are the only place I will stay when I go to the beach. They are homey, comfy, sweet, GREAT location and full of things to do (beach nearby, books, games in house etc.) The kitchen is fully equipt so I can cook a mean meal if I so choose to! Often we opt for the meal in house as we do not wish to leave the house (except to go down to the beach of course)!!! That should say it all! My dog Gracie May LOVES it at both places altho she prefers the Pier St. home with the back yard...BUT the Guardinia house has the most AMAZING view and is a wonderful place to be as well..almost zen like. Either way you cannot lose for sure. Dealing with the owners is a wonderful experience as well. Susy is wonderful. The beach is my home away from home as often as I can afford to go and these places always FEEL like my home away from home....it really does not get much better than that.
BEST RESTAURANT IN PACIFIC CITY...Los Corporales...get the garlic prawns...dear lord...also I feel like I am dining with friends here...worst restaurant experience was The Pelican Brew Pub (and their motel was not a great experience either)...GREAT VIEW and great beer so it is worth it to sip some suds and check out the sunset at Haystack Rock but really bad service and poor food for the top dollar they charge. I do not mind spending top dollar but they really were sub par at best, and I have gone there more than once to give it another shot. Other than that PC is a great great town and just right around the corner from the houses we rent!
SURFS UP!!

I have been lucky to be at both the Pier Street home and Guardenia as well...Guardinia has the most amazing view from the bedroom...the pics you see on line are true but it does not even begin to do it justice as how it feels just "being there" and waking up to that view...it blows the mind and then calms the soul...the deck is great and the home is beautiful and the fact that it is pet friendly makes a huge diff to me...very clean very homey very comfy very all that you want it all to be at the beach and have a home away from home. The owner Susy is great to work with and it all ends up feeling good. I go home a limp noodle as I am so happy and relaxed. I love the beach and have been at many places many many times (in northern California up to here- from Monterey Bay to Cannon Beach and then up to these homes in Tierra Del Mar) and this is by far the very best as far as good down home vibe.
Lucky me for sure.

We loved the view from the Master Bedroom. Beautiful... Just Beautiful. Thought the ice cream maker was also a nice homey touch! I have never made homemade ice cream, but I did when we stayed at Guardenia St. House. It was a hit! Thanks so much, Susy!

We recently discovered this wonderful getaway. This was our first time at the Pier Street house & Tierra Del Mar. I can say we will be back. Susy was wonderful to deal with & very helpful. The dogs loved being able to go out in the yard when they wanted being there is a dog door leading into the fenced yard. The facilities were excellent & clean. All you need to bring is food. The beds were very comfortable. Above my expectations but welcomed because of my bad back. The beach was great but we also discovered a long trail in the woods that parallels the beach just over the dune. Great for a Mt. Bike ride. During the weekdays the place was very quiet since very few people live there full time. We stayed in Feb. Overall a great place for a family vacation.

We absolutely love the Pier St. beach house! This
last trip was our third visit, and we are hoping to go
again very soon. The house is amazing, very clean
and cozy. The wood stove keeps the house nice and
toasty, and adds a lot of charm. It's a wonderful
getaway from the city, and is perfectly located close
to the beach. The doggies feel so at home and love
having a doggie door big enough to fit them! The
fenced back yard is definitely an added plus. Susy is
very nice to work with, and always responds quickly
to emails. Thank you for sharing your beautiful
home with us. Until next time! Sarah~

The Guardenia Street House was GREAT! The master bedroom was amazing and it did feel like we slept in the woods and woke up with the sun. The beach was just across the street and we could hear the ocean at night as we fell asleep. The location off the beaten path was great -- there were not a lot of people around on the beach or anywhere, but it was still close enough to Tillamook or Pacific City to allow us to get dinner or food to cook with it. The fireplace was awesome and we used it every night. WE were also able to go on a great bike ride. Thanks so much for sharing your great place with us!

This cabin is right across the street from a very deserted stretch of pristine beach and only a couple of miles from Pacific City, a cute town with great restaurants, gallery, store, etc... for necessities. The cabin itself is pretty basic, no frills, except for the master bedroom which is FABULOUS! Floor to ceiling windows, huge comfortable king bed and a walkout onto a great deck. The rate seems to be quite reasonable as well - peaceful place - I would definitely stay here again!

We have enjoyed staying with you in both your Idyllic Beach houses; Pier Street and Guardenia. We enjoy and feel most comfortable in the Pier Street house. Thank you, Susy

We returned to Guardenia Street because it offers such a warm, comfortable and relaxing location for us to unwind with our dogs. The weather was perfect and we spent hours outside, relaxing on the huge deck and watching the birds in the woods. The beach is just a short walk from the house and the house has everything we need for a delightful getaway. It's a treat to wake up to a view of the woods with the birds singing! We keep returning to Guardenia Street because it feels like a âhome away from home.â Thanks for making your lovely home available to us! We'll be back.

This was our second stay at the Guardinia Street House, and loved it......again! We love to wake up in the master bedroom surrounded by trees to set the mood for a relaxing day. The beach is wonderful because it is so big and gets little use. It is almost like having a private beach. The house was great, and only wish we could have stayed longer! Thanks for a great experience!

We stayed at the Guardenia Street House for the first time last week. It was our first time, and we had a wonderful visit. My parents (visiting from Ireland) loved waking up in the forest (the master bedroom), the kids loved having their own little bunkhouse, and our dog loved the long, secluded beach. The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything you might need; Susy was great to work with; and we can't wait to go back!

We had such a relaxing and fun time. I really needed some time to walk the beach and hang out with my husband and our dogs. The house is the perfect "beach house". Comfortable and homey, a block from the beach and nearby Pacific City which as another fantastic beach. I too loved the master bedroom. I can still close my eyes and be back waking up to the sun shining through the forest in the morning. We may try the Pier St. house next time, but we would definitely stay at Gardenia House again. The owner is easy to work with, and keeps it very nice.

The whole time we were there, we couldn't stop
exclaiming about how wonderful it was, and now
that we're home we can't shut up about how it was
the best vacation we've ever had. Of course, having
dogs along makes anything more fun, and Pier
Street House, with its nice little fenced yard and
gated mud room, makes bringing the dogs easy.
The kitchen was well-equipped--we cooked a lot
of the delicious local seafood and were even able to
make a blueberry pie (although we did use a beer
bottle from the Pelican Pub for a rolling pin!). Our
bad backs were grateful for the comfy beds, and we
loved being able to have a cozy fire one especially
cold night. The washer and dryer were a great
convenience. Susy was such a pleasant person to
deal with, and all the neighbors we met were lovely
as well.
In short, we had everything we needed and all in
the best location imaginable. Can't wait for next
year!

I can truthfully say that we had an absolutely had a great time. The Pier Ave. house was everything that we could have hoped for. The weather cooperated. We put the kitchen to good along withe the BBQ. All in All everything was excellent. We would certainly reccommend it to anyone that asks.

We had a great time at Pier st house. It's half a block from the beach and miles of sand for the dog to run - he had a ball!!
The house was very clean and beds were comfy. A well-stocked kitchen meant that we could cook ourselves rather than go out to eat. The rock shop opposite is also well-worth a look - polished rocks and jewellry mostly from sites in Oregon.
All in all, I highly recommend this house, especially for those with dogs.

I can't say enough good things about the Pier St. House. It is a few steps to the beach. The house is awesome for our family. We have 2 boys and a big ol' dog. The boys love the bunkroom. We love the upstairs master. I always sleep with the window open a bit so I can hear the crashing waves of the ocean. It is so peaceful. The woodstove heats the house nicely!
Love having the washer and dryer!
There's an abundunce of beach toys in the shed. The house is very clean. There's so much to do. Go see the lighthouse, the Octopus tree, climb the sand dune in Pacific City, see the tidepools, eat at the Pelican (go just before sunset,it is amazing),have breakfast at the Grateful Bread. Need some internet? Use the computer at Stimlus Cafe or the Pacific City library!
You will not be disappointed!! Susy's the best! This is our 6th year staying at either Pier or Gardenia, and it definitely won't be the last!

We really enjoyed the home, it is very nice and plenty of room for six people. The beach was completely deserted in November, even though the weather was great. The house is very warm and relaxing with a lovely, well stocked kitchen. We travel quite a bit and generally rent homes from owners. This was definately one of the nicest places we have stayed at on the coast, we'll definately be back.

We had a lovely time at your place! The beach was deserted and just gorgeous with all the sunny weather that we had. Our twin boys and our black lab just loved running on the sandy shores.
We also enjoyed seeing some of the years highest and lowest tides and relished the much needed 'disconnect' from the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
Thanks Susy! We'll be visiting again :D

The Pier Street House is a perfect spot for a retreat on a quiet section of the Oregon coast. The house is extremely well set up and the pet friendly option was nice as I brought my two dogs. We were there in November and it was very peaceful. We rarely saw anyone on the beach and there is so much to explore in the surrounding areas. Lincoln City has some nice restaurants, groceries, internet, good coffee... all the essentials if you need them and only a few miles away. I would recommend this house without hesitation.

We really enjoyed our stay at your lovely beach house. My husband rode the 104 mi. bike ride for "Reach the Beach" the weekend of May 14th and my family rented your home to support him and the cause and enjoyed a little break from it all. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather too!The house was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Our 2 Boston Terriers felt right at home with the doggy door and fenced backyard. The short walk to the private beach was so enjoyable..having it all to ourselves. There is plenty to do in the area as well and we will definitely be back! Thanks again!

Got to come here for my birthday this year (as a surprise - hooray!). This was our second stay here. Our first being for our honeymoon. This is my favorite spot on the beach, because it's in a nice secluded spot. And I love the house. I love that hardly anything seems to have changed in the last five years -- it made it feel even more like home :) I just love the master bedroom and can't wait to come back to it again. This visit, we went to Tilamook cheese factory, went to the beach, went hiking at Cape Lookout, ate in Cape Kiwanda, went to Blue Heron, and even rescued a dog who had ran up onto the highway. Speaking of which, I can't wait to actually bring the dogs next time we come visit. They are going to have such an awesome time at the beach. Anyway, we love this house, the hostess, the location, and have nothing but good to say about it. Thanks!
