Description of the Tierra del Mar vacation home rental

This house, perched on a bit of a hillside is close enough to the beach to smell the salt, hear the gulls and the ocean roar, but far enough away to be warm and windless when the beach is windy and cool. During a winter storms one can sit by the warmth of the fireplace and watch the winds bend the trees and waves break over the dunes.

One of the things to enjoy about this house is the quiet, private setting it has and the ease of finding a quiet place to read or just enjoy some private time. Views from any of the three large decks reminds one why they came to the coast. The hot tub is in a private yard with an ocean view and at night there are more stars in the sky than one would think possible. The children's area is on the lower level with it's own living room and TV, with games and puzzles and has 4 beds and a full bath. They love having their own space!

Area Information

Tree Top Hideaway is a beautiful coastal retreat near Sand Lake Estuary in a peaceful natural area off the beaten path. It is on the Three Capes Scenic Route which offers hiking, biking bird watching and lighthouses to enjoy. You will enjoy the spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and Sand Lake Estuary from all three floors of this comfortable vacation home. The house is very spacious and private, away from the hustle and bustle with a private hot tub overlooking the ocean. It's only a short four miles to Cape Kiwanda and Pacific City which has several good restaurants and great shopping.

Directly across the street is the Whalen Island Park with beach access, hiking trails and picnic areas. The park is in the Sand Lake Estuary which has an abundance of wildlife and offers clamming, fishing and crabbing for your enjoyment. Two miles away is Tierra del Mar with a public beach and literally miles of uncrowded beaches to walk, and opportunities for fishing, swimming and surfing.

Peaceful Retreat Our family truly enjoyed the Tree Top Hideaway. The house is lovely and the three decks are a pure delight to sit on and enjoy a morning cup of coffee or peaceful sunset. The middle deck is especially great because it completely surrounds the house with gates that lock so small children or pets can freely enjoy the space without fear of them going down the stairs. The bedrooms are all very large and the three bathrooms are great. The hot tub is very private and is one of the nicest I have ever used. The kitchen has just about anything you could want and even has two stoves. The smoke alarm is a little sensitive though, lol. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants a peaceful getaway as long as they can climb stairs. It was truly a wonderful home where you can relax and enjoy the Oregon Coast.
