Wonderful Cabin

My wife and I stayed at this cabin for a week to celebrate our anniversary, and absolutely loved it!! Perfect location...close to amenities but secluded enough for quite privacy. Beautiful location on the banks of the New River in Todd, surrounded by mountains and christmas tree farms. Loved the amenities of the cabin....bikes for riding on Railroad Grade Rd., fireplace for cool autumn evenings, hot tub for relaxing after a day of adventures, just to name a few. This was our first stay here, but we will definitely be back!!!

River front cottage

We arrived at our cabin and were immediately impressed by how clean and well kept everything was. The owners of this cabin take immense care of there things. It felt homey from the start. We had no complaints on our stay. Everything you could want was already at the cabin. We spent the weekend on the river with the kayaks provided and at night chilled on the back porch and listened to the flow of the river. We had a lovely view of the rolling hills...it was perfect! I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate my mans birthday. We will be returning!

Family Fun with Pups

The home was roomy and an open layout which we really enjoyed. Our two pups enjoyed the huge back yard. We really enjoyed the hot tub after the hiking we did almost every day. Great place!

Nice place to relax!

This was a nice cozy place, great for a vacation for my husband, myself, my mother and our four children to go to unwind. We enjoyed the open atmosphere of the home and the cozy furniture. The children loved the pool table in the garage and the extra tv to watch movies in their room. We also enjoyed the gas grill, which made it easy on mom to fix meals while on vacation. The river was only a few yards away and the boys were always grabbing their poles and going fishing. My husband took his kayack and with the ones from the cabin, we were able to kayack and tube down the New River. For September, the weather rained the first two days we were there, but was really nice the rest of the week. The colors of fall were just starting to show, but the weather was great for the river. We also used the cabin's bikes to ride and get our parked vehicle where we left it to go down the river. My husband and children also rode the bikes to the communtiy of Todd. Easy ride. All flat terraine. This was a nice place to stay. Pictures are a little dated because the community has grown quite a bit, but was very enjoyable. It was quite and serene. Not a lot of noise for a community of houses. We will definately consider on going back again. Thanks so much for your hospitality!

Great experience, will definitely return someday!

Really enjoyed the Riverfront Getaway Cabin. The property was nicer than expected and I had high expecations! The house included everything you needed. We brought extra items just in case, but the house was stocked with everything you needed in the kitchen (cookware, dishes, etc), bathroom towels, toilet paper, even bars of soap and travel-sized shampoos and conditioners. They really focus on the details. Pool table, river access, canoe, kayaks, mountain bikes, hot tub. The amenitites were awesome! The grill was a nice treat, and we also enjoyed the firepit as there's a Lowes closeby to purchase firewood. The large yard was fun for bocce ball and could easily be used for sports and activities for a bigger group though it was also nice for just 2 people. Great spot, I definitely want to return someday!

My Week in Green Meadows

We loved our week at the Riverfront Getaway Cabin in Green Meadows - Todd, NC. I used to own a home in this development so I love the area. This home offers everything for a fabulous vacation - hot tub, bikes, kayaks, tubes, a grill, and fire pit + a pool table. We took advantage of everything. Our favorite part was sitting in the chairs down by the river. We liked it so much that I rented the cabin again in December. I highly recommend it!

Very nice vacation spot

This is a very nice, clean cabin. Loved the location-the huge back yard, easy access to the river, and plenty of area to walk and play. Having the gates on the porches was very convenient so our dogs could hang out outside. The inside was nicely furnished and there were many useful appliances, nice dishware, fluffy towels, and adequate space to be comfortable. The only thing that was inconvenient for us was the stairs in the front and the back of the house, which are not conducive to accomodate persons with certain disabilities. We'd love to come and stay again when the weather is warmer.

Winter Getaway

We loved this cabin and the location was great. It was secluded but not isolated and we were 15 minutes from Boone. We have 4 in our family and there was plenty to do and enough room to enjoy ourselves. Our only suggestion would be to have additional Dish services. At least 90 percent of the channels were paid advertisements; just because we stayed mostly at the cabin in order to relax since we have a very busy on the go life with our children. There was not much on TV for the kids to watch when they could not play outside. There is not a good selection of movies to rent nearby. Overall very clean and enjoyable.

Lovely

Lovely and cozy cabin. Well equipped. We had lots of fun canoeing. Love the location. The only thing I would change: take down those huge pine trees blocking the view from the pack porch.

New River Cabin

Plenty to do. Kayaking on the New River. Cabin has direct access. Bike riding on the Railroad Grade Road. Todd is small town about 5 miles away you can ride to for lunch at the old General Store. Went fishing on the river as well. Cabin has most everything you need including a gas grill, hot tub and a fire pit out back near the river. They also have bicycles and kayaks in the garage if you don't bring your own as we did. Only complaint that I had and it is minor, was the master bath is a little tight.

Wonderful vacation home

We stayed at this home July 10-17 2011. The owners have gone the extra effort to make sure you have everything needed to enjoy your stay. From bikes, kyacks, pool table , hot tub, dvds and even a fire pit. If you would have to go and rent these things it would be costly for the week. The area is nice the yard is spacious and private. An extra is that they allow dogs and even a gate on each porch in case you don't want your dog following you. If you enjoy the mountains and the river you will enjoy your stay.

AHH!! FALLL!!

Our family visit to your cabin was very relaxing! We were greeted by afternoon warm sun followed by sunset on the front porch. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and my teens enjoyed taking the bikes for a ride. Loved the nice linens! Kitchen was well equipped. The dog gates on both porches were wonderful! Liked the location between Boone and West Jefferson!! I do suggest just giving directions from 221N turning onto Cranberry Springs Rd. Much easier. Would like to rent in the early summer to enjoy the river!!

Cute

The cabin was clean and cute. We liked the wood throughout and the decks/porches back and front. It was conveniently located for us and biking along the river was great fun. The windows could have been cleaner and the cobwebs removed. Other than that, it was fine for the 2 days we spent there.

Great weekend getaway!

We were sorry we were only staying for two nights. This is perfect for a tranquil getaway. Having the river run right in front of the cabin makes it easy to kayak. The cabin is very well-equipped. There were many kitchen extras not usually found in a rental. Everything was as-advertised. We are already talking about renting for a whole week next summer.

Has it All.

This beautiful home offers all that is needed for a fun getaway. Overlooking the New River, Chrismas tree farms, and beautiful mountain vistas this home is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the area. The home is comfortable, beautifully decorated, and fully equiped. Bikes, kayaks, floats, and fishing rods are there for you to use. The fishing is great. The home is near a 10 mile railroad grade country road which is perfect for biking and walking. A pool table is in the garage. The hottub beats out stress and is a great place to warm up after tubing in the cool river. This was our second stay. We will be back again. The cabin is near the main roads which will take you to all area attractions.

Serenity and Solitude in the Blue Ridge

We vacationed down at the Riverfront Getaway Cabin in the middle of April, just as the wildflowers were starting to bloom and the trees were starting to bud out for the Spring. The cabin was very clean, roomy, well-maintained, and comfortable. It seemed to be furnished in an "elegantly outdoorsy" theme, with its "Camp Run-a-Muck" sign in the main room and quilts on the beds, which only added to its appeal. We've stayed in other places that advertised a "fully stocked" kitchen, only to be disappointed. The cabin's kitchen was fully stocked without exception for every meal we needed to make. We ate there a lot, mostly to take advantage of sitting out on the open back porch, or sitting in the chairs down by the meandering and very peaceful New River. Hubert and Kathy were great hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. For a vacation in the NC Blue Ridge that is close to everything a "tourist" desires, yet far enough away to enjoy peace and tranquility, the cabin is hard to beat.
