Description of the Todd vacation cabin rental

Looking for a unique, private, riverfront retreat or the perfect getaway cabin? Privacy abounds the moment you enter the black iron gates and into this ultimate hideaway surronded by the New River. Start the day with coffee and/or breakfast on the deck listening to the sounds of the river and end your day peacefully in the rocking chairs listening to the sounds of nature, grilling out on the grill provided. Inside, you'll find a romantic fireplace in the great room, along with satellite TV with DVD for entertainment, washer/dryer and a full kitchen. The sleeper sofa offers a place for the children or extra guests. Each room has been quaintly & tastefully decorated with modern furnishings and accessories. Whether you're spending a weekend or a week, you won't want to go back home!

Area Description

Great fishing from the private bridge located on the New River! The cabin is walking distance from the town of Todd and 20 minutes from Boone and West Jefferson. In the town of Todd you have canoe, raft and bicycle rentals. Fly fishing lessons and of course the historic Todd General Store located only a walking distance away. You might like to visit North Carolina's only cheese factory and sample some of their many varieties of cheese, or tour the Church of the Frescoes in West Jefferson and historic Glendale Springs.

Hike and explore the mountain - 40 acre property surrounded by 100's of acres of state protected land.
Take a walk to the General Store or bike ride down Railroad Grade Road.
Rent canoes or inner tubes in Todd or bring you own and float down the river.
Goto the bakery in Todd and get some of the best cheese biscuits and cinnamon rolls.

Some of our favorite things to do at night:
Build a fire out on the river bank.
Go listen to the blue grass music on weekends at the Todd General Store.
Sit on the deck or open the window and listen to the sounds of the river.

Vacation Rental Policies

Payment Options: Cashier's Check, Mastercard, Money Order, PayPal, Visa
Check In: 4 p.m.
Check Out: 11 a.m.
Required Stay: 2 nights
Lodging Tax: 13%
Deposits: Deposit: At the time of your booking a credit card number (visa or mastercard) is required to hold the booking and to serve as damage deposit. Once you receive your rental package by mail or fax you will have ten days to returned a signed contract with one half the total rental charges to us. The remaining balance is due thirty days prior to your arrival. The payments must be made by Cashiers Check or Money Order - rents are not processed on Credit Cards.
Other Fees: All reservations are subject to a $40.00 reservation processing fee.

”What a location…away from everything yet an easy walk to tiny “downtown” Todd. Lots to do without getting in the car. Storytelling, music and food at The Mercantile, yummy treats and yoga at the Bakery, excellent selection of bikes, canoes, tubes and fishing gear at River Girl, and special events at the park. The sights and sounds of the New River from the deck of River’s Edge are especially relaxing. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Pleasantly surprised to find it nicer than portrayed on the website. The Railroad Grade road was a wonderful and easy bike ride, meandering along the New River for miles. Bike and fish the New River, August 7, 2009

Rivers Edge has everything you need for a peaceful getaway. Our bike ride along the Railroad Grade was magnificent. We rode all the way to Fleetwood and back to Todd. Stepping from the front yard into the New River to fly fish was amazing! Relaxing on the deck overlooking the river and a nice hot tub was perfect after a fun day. Thanks for sharing your beautiful mountain home!
