Description of the Torgiano vacation apartment rental
DOC wine producing Estate.
The Country house and its dependence which forms the Agriturismo "I Mori Gelsi" are placed in the heart of cultivated fields, close to an hill of vineyards. It is surrounded by a fully fenced private garden with swimmng pool (5x10), fruit trees, aromatic herbs and flowers. The country house has been vertically divided into two big Apartments, while the dependence is formed by one little independent unit. Furthermore, each apartment has a private wooden lighted gazebo in the garden to enjoy outdoor lunches and dinners. At their arrival the guests will find on the kitchen table a "welcome basket" with the necessary for their breakfast (tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, sugar, marmalade, honey), two bottles of the Farm wine, an home made salami and fresh eggs.
The FATTORIA SPINOLA was a nun's Convent in late Middle-Age, transformed during the centuries into a farmhouse and acheived with 3000 hectares, villas and houses, by the last of Spinola Family's Cardinal in 1850. The surroundings of the property are formed by the Tiber River and by woods of very ancient oaks and many other typical trees and plants, where the wild animal can shelter. It is not unusual to see pheasants, hares, porcupines, quails, foxes, owls and many other local animals living undisturbed in the Estate: they are protected and respected!
On Summertime a huge vegetable garden near the Farm is made for the owners and it is at client's disposal for free: all sort of vegetables, aromatic herbs (basil, parsley etc.) are cultivated without the use of chemical products..only sun, water and love!
The town of Torgiano still preserves its typical medieval appearance and the remains of its ancient walls.
The Museum of Wine is of great interest, containing a precious collection of storical documents regarding various sectors: the art of wine-growing and wine-making, and artistic, folkloristic and bibliografic documentation on the subject. You may also admire a very precious collection of maiolica dating back to th 17th and 18th centuries. The fortified part of the town is siuated between the middle of the Tiber valley and that of the Umbrian valley. Here, the cultivation of the vine is an ancient art as is evidenced by the testimonial of archeologicals finds, and by a sketch dating back to the 14th century. The zone is characterized by agriculture, consisting in the coltivation of various food-stuffs, and by craftsmanship, above all, the pottery trade. The Museum of Wine is the most qualified in all of Italy, with its collections of tecnical instruments, prints dating back to various times, specialized craftsmanship and folkloristic documents.

Reviews for this vacation apartment rental in Torgiano, Umbria, Italy
Dear Fiorbellina Spinola
Still always my husband and I think of our holidays in your lovely house in Torgiano. You made it so comfortable for us: The seats and curtains near the swimming-pool, the vegetables from jour garden , the " sight-seeing”in the museum/house of jour parents and specially your help with our car. Tank you for all of it!
About the damage of our car: It is just repaired for € 515. all inclusive. Fortunately the assurance payed it for us. So your friend made a good estimation of the price! (In French the estimation for repair should be € 550. ) I was surprised to hear from my sister Martineke that she and her husband have visit you on their trip in Italy. She speaks Italian very well, isn’t it? They liked your wine as much as we did. In a letter I send you a photo for dear Mario.
I am sure it was not the last time we rent a house from you. Once , we hope to see you again.Greetings to your parents.
With love from Gabri and Marian Hengeveld.
Dear Fiorbellina, Looking back at our holidaytrips this year to Umbria, Toscane and the Turkish Rivièra my wife Charlotte and I would like to let you know that we have very pleasant memories of our stay at your Brufa appartment last May. Your suggestions for restaurants and wines were of great help to us.
The appartment was very well equiped and perfect for a stay to explore beautiful Umbria with Perugia very nearby.
We still enjoy your Sangiovese ! A pity we can’t buy your wine in Holland.
We sure come back one of the coming years !
In the attachment you will find 2 pictures, which you can maybe use for your website.
With kind regards,
Aad and Charlotte Stolk
Dear Fiorbellina, thank you so much for all your hospitality when we stayed in your apartment, and all the good wine, egs, salad and other delightfull vegetables. When we left saturday morning at 6.30 I must admit, that we took the good weather with us. We had a beautiful trip crossing Italy to Pisa/Livorno, and since we arrived here two weeks ago, we have had Indian summer with sun and up till 24 degrees. And you have had a lot of rain. Enclosed (will be sent by post) you will find the two pictures I made of you and my wife Alvhild.
On your homepage with your apatment in Rome I think it is your daughter, we have seen on one picture, a nice little girl. Maybe we will meet again, in Torgiano or Rome, until then we are sending you all our best greetings. Also to your father with whom we talked too little. Kind regards Alvhild and Torben Traberg. *Denmark*
Dear Fiorbellina and Isabella,
Craig and I arrived home last night after our stay in Bologna at Garisenda. We just wanted both of you to know how much we loved Bologna, especially staying in the apartment at Casa Lupari. The location was perfect, the apartment was lovely and well-equipped, and we enjoyed every moment, even in the rain! We hope to return some time, as there is so much to see in Bologna and the surrounding area. Of course, if we do, we hope to stay at Garisenda again.
We also wanted to tell you how kind the young couple Paola and Bart were to us during our stay, especially when my purse disappeared (during a trip to Mantova) with all my credit cards inside. Paola and Bart let us use their telephone to call the credit card companies to report the loss and were helpful in many other ways as well.
When we arrived home last night, we discovered that the police in Mantova found the purse and we hope to have some of the contents returned before too long!
Many thanks for providing us with a memorable week in Bologna. Craig joins me in thanking all of you. Alla prossima!
