Area Description

Suttons Bay is a quaint and charming village on the Leelanau Peninsula and on the shores of West Grand Traverse Bay. It is approximately 15 miles from Traverse City (airport. Suttons Bay offers fine dining and shopping; three marinas; a village park/beach; whimsical shopping; and is only 3 miles from the Casino. It is a year-round village offering a movie theater, dry cleaners, deli/wine shoppe, several fine dining establishments, wonderful grocery with local produce, library, sledding hill and access to the Tart Trail for walking, hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. It is 30 minutes from a ski resort and only minutes from golf. Nearby towns include Leland (famous for "Fish Town" an ecclectic group of shanty shops on the Leland River and viewing Lake Michigan); Cedar (home of the Polka Festival); Glen Arbor with its' proximity to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and Park; and the lighthouse north of Northport at the tip of the peninsula.
