Description of the Traverse City vacation home rental
Our 3 bedroom / 2 bath home has been recently renovated with new furniture, paint and flooring. Everything you need for that enjoyable vacation has been provided: a deep sandy beach for the kids, a dock for your boat, swim platform for the kids, and rowboats for exploring the lake.
On those cool evenings, gather around the fire pit and roast some marshmallows with the kids. While the kids are sleeping in the morning, get that first cup of coffee, grab a chair on the deck and enjoy the sun as it rises across the lake. Once everyone has started the day, take your boat and head out to the lake for some swimming or skiing.
No need to walk down to the lake like you would have to with many homes on the lakes in the Traverse City area. The lot is flat and long....a large backyard ajoining the lake. Plenty of room for the kids to run and play.

Area Info
Our home sits on the very private and secluded Duck Lake peninsula. Duck Lake is a 2000 acre all sports lake, plenty of room for sailing, boating, and skiing. Close to both Traverse City (20 minutes) and the Interlochen Art Academy (8 minutes), this is the perfect location to be close to everything. The Arts Academy has concerts throughout the summer by many notable entertainers. The peninsula is heavily wooded and you feel like you're living in a park. Walking and biking around the peninsula, are some of our families favorite activities. The homeowners association maintains a park with tennis courts, shuffleboard court, volleyball court, horse shoe pits, tether ball and a picnic pavilion. And the best part is, the lake is in your own backyard!!!!!

Great Place for Families

August 22, 2011

We took our two sons to this cottage for a week. The sandy beach and shallow water area by the house make for perfect play time! There's also a great swing in the back yard for watching the sun set. The house is located on a quiet peninsula which is perfect for walking/running. There are also several great restaurants not far from the cottage. I highly recommend the 20 minute drive to Moomers for some ice cream. There's nothing better!

Very nicely redone home. Unfortunately we were there when the temp was in the 90's. Inside the home, the temp was usually higher than outside and the humidity was 90%. Area is lovely. Great place to stay in Fall or Winter.

Tranquil location near Interlochen and TC

June 16, 2011

The house exceeded our expectations! I was a little concerned renting a house sight unseen but Ken was great about answering all my questions and we were very pleased upon our arrival. The pictures accurately portrayed the space and the direct access to the lake was very relaxing. The house is located in a very quite neighborhood that is safe for bike riding and enjoyable walks and is ideally located between Interlochen Arts Academy and TC. If you’re a parent of a student attending IAA or IAC you will be very happy with the proximity to the campus. We were able to enjoy our daughter’s graduation festivities and still have enough time left over to take in several of the local wineries on Old Mission Peninsula. Looking forward to returning to the house again when our son graduates from IAA!
