Description of the Truro vacation home rental
Spectacular Cape Cod Antique nestled on a sandy dune on the Pamet Mill Pond in South Truro. Walk to Fisher Beach, just 1/2 mile down Fisher Road or around the mill pond. Walk to Pamet Harbor 1/4 mile away. Birds and wildlife abound here where woodland meets the sea. We have just completed a complete renovation of this historic home.
With six bedrooms and five bathrooms, our home has the flavor of a country inn for your guests. We kept many of the great historical features, including the wide pine floors, wainscoting, period doors, hardware and hand-hewn beams. We added new windows, limestone baths, wide cherry wood trim, designer bath fixtures and many other modern conveniences including central air, central security, central vac and custom antique brass light fixtures and the gourmet kitchen. This Cape Cod escape has two stunning master suites (both first and second floors) - additionally, all bedrooms, the dining room and kitchen have waterfront vistas.
Each bath contains beautiful limestone walls and floors.
The fully equipped Gourmet Kitchen contains a Subzero Frig, Viking dishwasher and range, microwave, Granite counters, and custom wide oak board floors from our Connecticut Farm. New cookware and modern appliances make this kitchen a cook's dream. The herb garden with sun dial has a fresh selection of fresh herbs for that favorite meal. The rooms are comfortably furnished with period country antiques with ample lighting. Oriental rugs are a main feature in many of the rooms augmenting the natural beauty of the wide plank floors and cherry trim. Your vacation on the pond will provide a life time of memories for you and your guests.
Some of the many things to do: Walk to downtown Truro for shopping at Jams, Mac's Seafood, or a visit to the Post Office. Truro is known for being a quiet town, and yet there is so much to do in the area. A whale watch boat excursion out of nearby Provincetown or a trip to the Truro Light house are a must. There is a kayak for your use. In town, Highland Light Golf Course is a short drive. The new Truro Library and Town Hall are nice places to visit after a day at the beach. The surfing and swimming opportunities at Ballston Beach are well known. Nearby Well fleet is a short bike/ drive down Old County Rd and provides additional opportunities for touring the many art galleries, shopping, and quaint walks through this historic village.
Looking Forward to Summer 2013: 2013 will be our ninth rental summer and we look forward to sharing our home with so many wonderful folks as we have over the years.
