Reviews for this vacation home rental in Tucson, Arizona
great casita if you love nature
February 10, 2012
Wonderful little place close to the National Parks. If you love nature and being close to the park, this is the place for you. Great owners - and loved our dogs! A plus !!!
Dear Lori, I think you have the wrong property? Rancho Chuparosa is not close to any National Parks (Forests, yes). Closest is Saguaro National Park 15 miles away. We are in Tucson, AZ, far NE side of town at base of Mt. Lemmon? And I usually don't allow pets. Most importantly, I don't have a record of you staying at the property!? Confused, Tim (but glad you had a great time where ever you were!!)

Stayed for 4 nights in September 2010. The place is absolutely beautiful. Tim's attention to detail is excellent. Its just like home away from home. Everything you could possibly need is there. The place is spotless and very comfortable

Beautiful view and full of birds
March 31, 2010
We loved how peaceful it was and the great view. Our son (and us) was entertained by the chirping birds (e.g. humming birds, wood peckers... and lots of them!) and rabbits... While we did not get to meet the owner in person, he seems very nice as well!

Rancho Chuparosa was a perfect place to wake up and come back to each day of our 6 day stay. We three friends couldn't have been more comfortable and accommodated in this house. Plenty of room to spread out, lovely patio to view the huge variety of birds (fabulous hummingbirds!), rabbits, (one day spotted a mountain lion well protected by an iron gated fence along the house's property line). Property is filled with indigenous plants front and back. Tim answered all our questions, emailing before our arrival detailed instructions for accessing the house, use of the hot tub, DVD and CD players, TV, garage, etc. The location was a perfect jumping off point for all the wondrous places nearby Tucson. We'd all return in a minute! Thanks, Tim, for providing such a peaceful respite.
Home Away from Home

Immediately upon arriving at the Hummingbird Rance we felt home. The amenities were unbelievable! Our favorite was the plethora of birds in the back of the house. The Cardinals, Pyroloxia, Quail, etc. hung out daily. My only hesitation about returning is the driving distances to hike, shop restarants, etc. I hate being in a car, so am supersensitive to this, other people would wonder what I was talking about. We frequented Saquarro NP, Calvino Canyon...we hiked everyday....and loved it.

This place was even better than I had hoped. The house is spacious, light, airy, and filled with interesting books about the area and its culture. The setting is heavenly. You feel as if you were in the wilderness, with quail and roadrunners and rabbits in the front and back lawns and hummingbirds flitting in the mesquite trees. I too saw a bobcat as I was walking down Makahoh Trail. Yet there are neighbors nearby and the area is safe and friendly. I would definately come here again, perhaps in the winter when the days aren't so hot. (Even in June, though, it was cool enough in the morning and early evening to take walks". I will always remember the sunsets and the play of light and shadow on the mountains at the end of the day.
Really, Really Great

Rancho Chuparosa greatly exceeded expectations. Wesdtern living at its best! Well furnished, beautiful location, abundant wildlife in the backyard (hummingbirds, Gila woodpeckers, California Quail, Coyote, cacti in bloom). Every amenity, spotlessly clean, great views, peaceful -- would stay here again anytime.

Rancho Chuparosa is a charming home set in an idyllic landscape surrounded by honey mesquites, saguaros, barrel cactus, prickly pears, ocotillos and other plants native to the Sonoran desert. We enjoyed mornings sitting in the garden watching the sun rise over the near mountains and the songs of cactus wren, white winged doves and humming birds. This was a great base from which we planned expeditions in an around Tucson. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Lovely house, exactly as described, everything we
needed, spotlessly clean....... what more can we say
except loved the Hummingbirds and the resident Road
Runner. If we make the long trip from England to
Tucson again we will come back to Rancho Chuparosa.

Just wanted to let you know that our latest Tucson vacation was the best yet!
It was so nice staying in a comfortable, warm home with lovely surroundings in a peaceful, secluded corner of Tucson rather than a hotel room in the midst of Tucson's hustle, bustle and millions of Targets.
The house was immaculate and extremely well stocked. Was able to find every utensil I needed for cooking!
We were pleasantly surprised to find so much hiking literally around the corner. We were able to go out hiking several days without getting in the car.
The wildlife right out the back door was delightful. We saw hummingbirds, quail, roadrunners, an 8 point deer, rabbits (including a antelope jackrabbit) and the best was a bobcat sitting in the mesquite tree near by the hot tub.
We will definitely rent your home again!

When you are looking for a home on the internet you never are really sure what you will be getting till you see the house. This house was more than we expected. The house is larger than we thought, decorated very nicely and has every thing you would ever need
The location is perfect for getting any place you want to go. The yard was interesting for someone from Ohio who had never seen all those cactus. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be able to return to Tucson and Rancho Chuparosa.
