Sleeps 6, with full kitchen, laundry, and two fireplaces. Minutes from downhill skiing or a round of golf, or simply basking in the desert sun by the pool or watch the stars at night in the hot tub, this property offers a unique vacation experience. An amazing experience at the Desert Moon Retreat

Our 7 night stay at Desert Moon was absolute bliss. From dusk till dawn the landscape never ceased to amaze and the house was a dream in itself. I'll never forget my husbands face as we drove up to the house. He loves the desert and this for him was the vacation rental from heaven! Tucked away at the base of the Catalina Mountains and with giant saguaro cactus all around, we felt like we were the only people in the world. The property is close enough to feel like you are still part of the civilised world when you need to be, but far enough away to immerse yourself in the desert around. We enjoyed lazing by the pool & hot-tub, hiking, walking, star gazing, meeting the neighbours and the wildlife was incredible. Not to mention just enjoying all that the house had to offer. A short drive away took us to great food and shopping. If you are looking for a vacation rental with a difference, with owners who really care that you enjoy your stay, then this is the one for you.

Connects You with Desert and Mountains

Our five-week experience at the Desert Moon was spectacular. The home--which is a combination design style of Frank Lloyd Wright and Hopi kiva--helps you connect with the colorful Sonoran Desert in the front yard and the daunting Catalina Mountains in the back yard. The location is close enough to Tucson for restaurants, golfing, and hikiing in the canyons while distant enough to hear cayotes beneath bright stars at night. Today's stewards, Maria and Carla, are caring and gracious. We've made reservations to return.

Private, Serene and Beautiful Get-away

Spacious, unique and both tastefully and comfortably furnished, Desert Moon is an experience in itself. The house is situated in a special part of Tucson - close to all amenities, yet tucked up on Tucson's northeast rim, away from the rush and rattle of the city, literally at the foot of Mount Lemmon. Amazing as it is, the house is just part of the package - Desert Moon is surrounded by magnificent Saguaros, Mesquite trees, Cholla, Ocotillo, Prickly Pear and other cacti - wild and thriving - with fauna to match. Our days were sunny, warm and restorative; the sunsets a stunning splash of colour, followed by night skies that offered up yet another kind of light show. Every moment of every day, whether lounging in the courtyard or exploring the network of arroyos in the "backyard", the changing moods of the desert were laid out like a feast before us. Our month at DMR gave us an indelible Sonoran Desert experience but it wasn't long enough. We plan to return year after year.

What a wonderful place to escape the cold midwest weather. Maria and Carla are great, when they accidentally double booked instead of telling us to find another place, they gave us their home for 3 day's until DesertMoon was ready. We love Tucson and DesertMoon.
