Best house ever

March 1, 2014

This house was just what we were looking for, in a quite and private location, comfortable, beautiful, and very clean. The owners were wonderful and close at hand if you needed them. They stopped up with warm muffins when we arrived, what could be better than that after a long 8 hour drive. We had a great time and were about a 1 hour drive to each of Vermont's larger ski areas of Killington/Stowe/Sugarbush. We were also close to see several covered bridges, a Maple sugar farm and Ben and Jerry's Ice cream factory. Memory's and pictures to last a life time. Be sure to have a car with good traction or a four wheel drive in the winter to navigate the driveway. Thanks

Owner's reply:

Vermont Fall Colors

October 13, 2013

We (two retired married couples) stayed in this GREAT log home three nights in early October. The home was very clean, no bad smells, well furnished, nicely decorated, very quiet and peaceful. We saw two deer on this ninety acre property as we arrived in late afternoon. The hosts were friendly and attentive. We utilized the Weber propane grill one meal and the propane heating stove one cool evening. Every thing about the home was as advertised. We especially appreciated the inhouse clothes washer and dryer since we had already been traveling for a week. The fall colors, forested hills, and green pastures were nice. We had a wonderful time and readily recommend this property.

Owner's reply:

Thank you for this very nice review. We are happy you enjoyed our cabin and hope to see you back one day. Larry and Ruth.

the perfect place

June 14, 2013

this "cabin" is amazing. Spacious, comfortable, quiet, clean, and complete with everything you need. Even the days it rained we were happy to be there! The 90 acre property is stunning and beautifully maintained by the owners who obviously love the environment. The location is the heart of central Vermont but off the beaten path, great drives through the local countryside and nearby villages. Highly recommended!

Vermont Heaven

November 4, 2012

Our trip to Vermont was at the end of a visit to Montreal to visit our son at McGill. My husband, son and myself were looking for a respite from the city. When I found this beautiful cabin on the Vacation Rentals site I fell in love with it and was so excited that our stay would fit into the schedule for Ruth and Larry, the owners. We arrived in the dark after a gorgeous ride through the forest. Larry had called to check on our progress getting to the cabin because it was after dark and they were concerned about us. The first thing we saw was a beacon of light on top of a hill showing us the way to the cabin. The cabin is beautiful and has been created and decorated with much love. We were surprised to hear that Larry had built it. The rooms were spacious. Ruth's decorating is beautiful. Look for her porcelain creations and paintings in the cabin. It was more than we had ever expected. The location is beautiful. Ruth and Larry live at the bottom of the hill in a large, lovely home. Larry had so much information to share with us about the area and his 90 acres. Finn, their Westie, was a delight! Unfortunately Ruth was at a class on our first day and we did not get to meet her. However, that night she came up to the cabin just to meet us. She is charming! They are vacation home rental owners who have a passion for their guests' comforts and for providing all of the necessities and even more for each of their guests. We wished we could have stayed longer, but our schedule did not permit it. I would recommend staying there during any season. There is even a beautiful pond which is frozen in the winter for ice skating. We were in Vermont heaven for two nights!

Beautiful !

August 20, 2012

Staying at this cabin was awesome! The driveway is lined with beautiful flowers and there are even blackberry bushes. The land is well landscaped and maintained. The cabin is spacious, a well equipped kitchen, and very neat and clean. The view from the deck is very picturesque. Ruth and Larry (the owners) are very hospitable and know how to make a person feel welcomed and comfortable. Having a washer and a dryer is very helpful. There are not enough words to describe what a wonderful experience it is to stay here. We hated to leave when our stay was up, so much so we extended our stay by a day. If you are looking for a place for beauty, peacefulness, acreage to walk, and also to have owners who truly care about the ones who rent this is definitely the place you want to stay. It is by far the best place we have rented for a vacation!

Awesome experience

November 16, 2011

I rented the cabin with my friend and our kisd. We went for opening weekend of the rifle deer season. Although we didn't get a deer we had an awesome weekend. Everyone loved the cabin as well as the land and the host and hostess couldn't have been more hospitable. We hope to stay there again many more times.
