Description of the Tybee Island vacation condo rental

Your vacation home is a one bedroom, one bath condo that has been recently renovated. It is on the third floor and has a magnificent water view. You will sit on the balcony and enjoy seeing cargo ships heading towards the port of Savannah. Shrimp boats will pass by. You will delight as you see the dolphins jumping and playing right in front of you. The unit has beautiful hard wood floors throughout except for the entranceway, the kitchen area and the bathroom where there is new ceramic tile. On the wall in the living room is a 42" plasma TV for your enjoyment. You will love your comfortable Lazy Boy recliner and Lazy Boy recliner sofa. There is a large desk and comfortable chair where you can write letters or use your computer. We have also provided wireless high speed internet so you can keep in touch with friends and family. You will enjoy telling them about all that they are missing. You are just steps from the larger of the two swimming pools. From the pool, you walk a short distance along a walkway leading to the water. Benches are situated at the end of the walkway where you can relax and watch the pelicans, other birds and the dolphins. You will not see a crowded beach. This is a residential area where there is very limited access to the beach. After a relaxing and fun filled day, you can enjoy dinner at one of the many outstanding seafood restaurants on the island. Or you can prepare your own feast in your fully equipped kitchen. When you are ready for sleep, the queen size bed with plush pillows and blankets beacons you. You will feel safe and secure because Savannah Beach and Racquet Club is a private, gated community.

Area Description

Tybee is a small island only a 15 minute drive from Savannah, one of the oldest cities in the country. In the center of the city there is a 21/2 square mile restored historic area, the largest in America. The city is laid out with over 20 squares or small parks. Each is unique with water fountains, statues of famous people and majestic churches. You can walk on the original cobblestones on River Street as you look at the Savannah River and fine shops and restaurants. Boat and bus tours are available. On the Paula Dean tour you will learn about the lady who has become famous for her Savannah restaurant and TV cooking shows.

On Tybee Island you can visit the historic Tybee Lighthouse. Climb to the top and you will have a great view of Tybee and the surrounding area. Nearby is Fort Pulaski, a restored fort used in the Revolutionary war and the Civil War. Some of the finest seafood restaurants are there for you to enjoy. You will not run out of wonderful things to see and do in this great vacation spot.
