Description of the Tybee Island vacation condo rental
This comfortable first floor condo is the perfect vacation home for a SENIOR couple or two couples and even a small family.

We left this condo a bit 'uncluttered'. Those of us with beach condos really have a great time decorating and junking them up to show off our beach stuff. This one is a little different. Sand Dollar has a lift chair used to assist people who may have difficulty getting up and out of chair. It's operated by remote control and is a blessing to those who need it. It's a great asset for seniors. The more we thought about the benefits some may realize from this particular chair, we began to consider other ways we could make this condo more beneficial and considerate of SENIORS.

The condo is just off the middle breezeway where the handicap access walk is located. It's just 2 doors down from the middle entrance. The upper pool deck and dune walk to the beach are at the end of the hall just four doors down and you're there. You can walk to the end of the dune walk without stairs being an obstacle but ... there are steps at the end of the dune walk that take you down on the beach.

While a wheelchair may be difficult to maneuver, seniors who use walkers will find getting around in this condo easy. We have not put rugs all over the place or a bunch of tables to make an obstacle course.

There is a huge closet in the hallway where all your belongings can be placed. We move the chest of drawers in the bedroom into a closet cubby so it's out of the way. There is a door from the bedroom to the bathroom and also the hall door to the bathroom.

The condo remains a great choice for a small family. Two couples could easily share this wonderful condo, as well, for a great vacation.

This is not the condo for people who come to the beach to sit on the deck and watch for dolphin. You have a pretty view towards the pool and the water beyond. You can see the ships pass the complex from the deck but no direct beach view.

The kitchen is equipped with stove and refrigerator. The various kitchen appliances you would expect are there, plus some you won't expect. All your cookware, dinnerware and utensils are provided.

You have a 32 inch TV with DVD in the living room. There is no TV in the bedroom.

All you bedding and bath linens are provided and are nice quality. 2 beach chairs and beach towels are also provided for your convenience.
Area Information
Savannah Beach & Racquet Club is a condominium property consisting of 168 individually owned condos on Tybee's North Beach. We're in a primarily residential neighborhood so you don't have a crowded beach or the noise that accompanies a crowded beach. Bring your groceries and you never have to leave the complex. We are a gated community and the beach is just a short stroll down a dune walk.

Restaurants, night clubs and tourists attractions are close by. I have a pretty complete gallery on our FB page of shops and restaurants.

Ft. Pulaski and the Historic Tybee Lighthouse are close by. I've added a photo gallery on our FB page showing Ft. Pulaski. What a fabulous place to spend a relaxing day. You can walk the grounds of the Fort - sit on the water behind the Fort and watch the dolphin play and ships go by. There are some beautiful nature trails throughout. You can even find a couple of little fishing holes around by the Coast Guard Station. Best of all... $10 will get you a pass for the week.

A day trip to Savannah is always recommended if you have time. The historic area is quite beautiful. River Street and City Market are great fun. Good shopping and wonderful restaurants are everywhere.
