Description of the Tybee Island vacation cottage rental

Missy's on the Marsh is a classic 1950s cottage completely restored in 2007 and filled with bright, cheerful beach colors and local artwork. Screened porch with four rocking chairs, perfect for watching the setting sun. The big back deck on the edge of the marsh has a picnic table, grill and lots of comfortable seating to take in the restful marsh views and watch the white heron forage in the tidal creek. We're pet friendly with a fenced front yard. Easy walk or bike ride to the 1st Street or 6th Street beaches.

This cottage has three bedrooms and two full baths, a bright living room with lots of seating, a kids play area with games, puzzles, books and videos; a fully equipped family kitchen and laundry room with washer/dryer. You'll have satellite TV/DVD/VCR and a high-speed internet connection and WiFi. Air conditioned with ceiling fans in every room, including the front screened porch. White ceramic tile floors and gauzy linen drapes complete the coastal look. All the comforts of home, and you're at the beach!

Tybee Island, a low-key seaside resort located 18 miles east of Savannah, has a wide, 3-mile long beach that's backed by sea oat-covered sand dunes and is perfect for sunbathing, shelling, people-watching and frolicking in the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. The island's south-end pier and pavilion is a splendid venue for strolling above the ocean and listening to the music of the live bands.

Visitors are lured to Tybee for its recreation and relaxation, but there's also plenty of family activities. Tybee offers Fort Screven, The Tybee Island Lighthouse (dated 1773) and museum, Fort Pulaski with guided tours and daily cannon firing, and the Marine Science Center, with info on all the local wildlife. For the energetic, there's kayaking in the marshes and rivers and bike riding along the beach and the new bike path out to Fort Pulaski.

Tybee is a resort complete with a full range of restaurants, bars, art galleries and beach shops. You won't find any chain shopping here. It's an atmosphere considerably more laid-back than that of glitzier, larger beach towns to the north and south.

Final Payment is due in full two weeks prior to your arrival date. You may choose to have us bill the payments to your Visa or MasterCard on the due dates.
   
• Other Fees: $100 housekeeping fee. Pet Fee (if applicable): $100 for the first 2 dogs. $100 each additional dog.
