Description of the Tybee Island vacation cottage rental

Wonderful Circa 1940, oceanview cottage. Great location, just steps to the beach with breathtaking views of the water and the beach. Large rooms, brightly decorated, clean and comfortable. Fenced in private back yard, Deck with private hot tub. Cable and local phone service. Rates are posted in compliance with all other rental agencies on Tybee, however, please call for rates as this home is individually owned and maintained, and the rates are always negotiable.

Area Information

Wonderful fishing island with lots of local color. Several night clubs and bars, most with free live entertainment. Nesting sea turtles, canoes, kayaking, and surfing just to name a few. Located approximately 20-30 minutes from historic Savannah, home of the "Bird Lady", performing arts center, and a large convention center nearby.

relaxing on Tybee

We really liked this cottage. It's spacious, bright and airy and very clean. The huge dining area and view of the ocean were among my favorite features. Lots of ceiling fans kept it nice and cool. The kitchen is small and could use some dish rags, towels and maybe a muffin pan : ) The queen room upstairs has windows with little shutters that open to the hallway. The top half of the windows are open so there isn't much sleeping in to be had in that room. The room with the bunk beds was nice and the kids loved it. The bunks could use some new mattresses at some point tho. There were T.V's in most of the rooms even in the dining area which was nice. I'm not sure if there were T.V's downstairs. Downstairs is the two other queen rooms and another bath. One of the rooms is completely open so there's not a lot of privacy. There is a 1 ton a/c unit in the downstairs that keeps it nice and cool. I felt the unit was a little noisy but it makes for good white noise while you are trying to sleep. The beach and the pier are just a short walk away. This cottage is close to everything really. The garage came in handy for putting all of beach stuff in at the end of the day instead of having to bring it all in the house. I couldn't get the lights to work in the garage however. There is also a washer and dryer in the garage. The chain on the light is real short and took me a minute to find. The charcoal grill and little fenced in backyard were other pluses. We didn't happen to use the hot tub during our visit. This rental really exceeded my expectations. You just can't get this much space for the price and so close to the beach!

The house was great! Plenty of space and an awesome layout. Also close to beach and all of the action downtown, we walked everywhere. The hot tub was perfect!!!!! Want to stay here again

Beach Retreat

This cottage lives up to its pictures and then some!! The cottage is cute, clean and in a perfect location! The walks on the beach a block away was a great way to start every morning and end every evening! The beaches are loaded with "treasures" (shells) and not too busy! Our teenagers loved the water sports (skimboarding & surfing) and enjoyed the downtown area in the evenings. It was a perfect location of privacy, but close enough to everything to have fun! The cottage is very roomy with everything you need! The grill and hot tub were a great bonus! My sister's family and mine spent a relaxing, fun-filled week in the sun in the perfect cottage and spot on Tybee Island! I strongly encourage others to give this cottage a try! You won't be disappointed!
