Need a get away from the routine stress and aggravation of life? Visit Latitude Adjustment Cottage and you will be adjusting not only your location but your outlook on life! The house sleeps 12 and if rented along with the listing number 285930 on another site called vacation rentals by owner located across the street, you can bring your up to 23 lucky folks to share your 'adjustment'. :)

Located on the natural and less commercialized end of Tybee, you will find not only beaches bordered by sand dunes, sea oats and forests but panoramic views of the shipping channel, ocean and tidal creeks which host sail boats, wind surfers, kayaks and beach combers.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the screened porch as you are gently awakened by birds and breezes from the near ocean. Plan a day of biking about the island or just cat napping on the beach with a good book as the surf laps at your toes.

Sleeping for 12 includes a master bedroom/bath with a private balcony to share some quiet time with someone you love. The 'kids' room sleeps 4 and is equipped with games and DVDs for children and adults and has a private bath with shower. A queen bedroom AND a twin bedroom AND a queen sleeper on the main level share the 3rd bath.

The kitchen is spacious and well equipped for preparing everything from a picnic lunch for a day trip to the beach or a long bicycle ride to a low country boil featuring our famous Georgia Shrimp caught right outside of your door! Appliances are up to date and there is plenty of cabinet storage, a pantry and lots of counter space. The glass top table in the adjoining dining room seats 8 and a near by bar will seat 4 more. The open kitchen, dining and great room make entertaining easy for a crowd.

Grilling is another favorite way to cook our seafood (or a good steak or chicken!) so you may want to fire up the gas grill and prepare something new and tacos or grilled shrimp kabobs? While your food is cooking enjoy a beverage and appetizers in the backyard on the lower, tree shaded deck.

Great conversations, game playing (and TV watching!) will happen in the large but cozy den which features comfy sofas, chairs and good lighting for reading a favorite book.

Area Information

Tybee is a kayaker's dream destination! There are several places on the island to rent kayaks and guided tours provided daily. The tidal creeks are unlike any other geographic feature in the world so to be able to view these unique creeks from a kayak makes for a memorable trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:It's hard to get close to beach on Tybee. Is this walking distance?
A:From Latitude Adjustment Cottage you just go out your front door and there is a beach access path about 150 feet away...very nice! AND..there are none of those big public parking lots in the area, so you'll enjoy much less crowded beach than most areas and have great views (if your timing is right:) of ships passing and dolphin playing off the beach.
Q:We have four cars and can't find anything to rent. Can we park four cars here?
A:As you see in the picture, there is plenty of room for four cars or even a couple more if needed! This is a private single family home; there aren't the restrictions that you cab find at condo developments or townhomes.
Q:I've seen places not charging state and local taxes. Can you waive those?
A:NO! We're sorry..but the state and local taxes are law. Tybee is on the warpath in fact about any property not charging the taxes. This is important because actually, by law, the visitor is responsible for paying them. So, in case there was an audit or something, you need taxes shown separately on your paperwork so you can prove YOU paid them in case the owner does not. In fact, Tybee law requires they be shown separately on your paperwork. The taxes go to things that hopefully make the island (and the state) more enjoyable for all visitors! And, they are charged most everywhere in the country now for vacation rentals.
