Description of the Union City vacation home rental
This is a newly renovated 1840's farmhouse. We kept the original floors where we could and the layout of the rooms the same. This home is in a beautiful location.private and quiet. It is surrounded by 200 acres of forest and meadows and their is a large pond to go fishing in. The woods are great to wander through, you never know what you are going to see, we have turkeys,whitetail deer and many other creatures of the forest. We do not allow hunting or ATV riding so it truly is a refuge for animals and also for people who desperately need quiet time.We are surropunded by many cities and towns that offer an amazing array of events.We keep the house stocked with games,books,puzzles etc for those rainy lazy days. We have a large bright kitchen that offers a gorgeous view of the pond and the meadows. There is an attached dining room. there is also a living room and a sitting room. We have a reading nook upstairs that also has an aspiring view. we are only 2 miles from Canadohta Lake. There are also scenic country roads to bicycle on. Our hometown is a small friendly place with much to offer. In August there is the Lumber festival which is alot of fun. We are also close to Northeast and the Cherry Festivaland the grapes,peaches,apples that are grown there. We operate an organic farm and have Highland cattle, sheep,llamas and many other small animals. We stock our guests kitchen with fresh eggs from our chickens and fresh produce from the garden. We strive to give our guests a wonderful place to stay..a home away from home. it is also a wonderful place for reunions.We are 20 miles from Erie so you can enjoy the quiet and still enjoy Presque Isle,Erie Zoo,Dobbins Landing,Warner theater,Comedy club Presque Isle Downs and far to many to mention fine restaurants.We are also only 15 miles from Lake Pleasant,Not to far from Peak and Peak ski resort. The list goes on and on. We would love to have you as guests in our rental home.............
Area Description
We are 2 miles from Canadohta Lake, 12 miles from historic Waterford, They have their annual Heritage days in July, We are only 20 miles from Erie and Presque Isle Downs is closer than that. Our hometown of Union City is a small friendly town that has been growing steadily in the past few years. We offer the Lumber festival in Ausust that has many fun events. Beautiful French Creek runs right through the middle of town.So there is always fishing available. You can always rent watercraft or bring your own. We have many lakes near the house,Lake Erie,Canadohta Lake, Lake PLeasant,Findley Lake. Our home is located on an unpaved quiet country road, it is surrounded by meadows and forests which are abundant with wildlife.Our past guests did not want to leave.There are many dairy and beef farms in the surrounding area.
there are many fairs and festivals in the area from summer into fall. Meadville fair in August offers many big name entertainers every year. There is also Waterford Heritage Days and their fair, Spartansburg fair ,the lumber festival in Union City.Cherry festival in the beautiful town of Northeast. We also have many wineries and wine tasting tours in the area. There is nothing like the smell of fresh grapes still on the vine.or picking your own apples or peaches or cherries.Children love this. Erie also has a great zoo and Discovery museum and the Tom Ridge Center, Ship Niagra, Dobbins Landing and the Tower Presgue Isle, Splash Lagoon, Art museum, Canadohta Lake offers a beach,The GAme Room ,2 minature gulf areas and a water slide located behind the popular frogpond restaurant.These are just a few of the great activities that are nearby for children and family outings. We are also blessed with a great golf course only 3 miles from the house with many others within a 20 mile area.Union city and Canadohta Lake each offer many great casual reastaurants.There are a multitude of fine dining restaurants in Erie, only a short ,scenic 20 mile or less drive.We think and our past guests also have told us that our rental home has the best of both worlds.Quiet and peaceful relaxation and nearby activities.
