Description of the Utila vacation home rental
Escape to paradise at the Lavender House. A beautifully constructed beachfront home located at the south shore of Utila at Treasure Beach.

Located just 3 miles from Utilatown, and ONLY ACCESSIBLE BY BOAT, a getaway to the Lavender House is the perfect answer for newlyweds and couples wanting quiet and privacy or for friends and families seeking to revitalize and just spend some time together.

The spacious front porch has beautiful views of the beach, ocean, Utila Cays and the mainland mountains on the horizon, and is appointed with relaxing deck furniture and a 6-person dining table.

The top floor features a comfortable living room and top-of-the-line, fully-equipped kitchen. The expansive master suite has a luxurious king-sized bed with built-in night stands, two walk-in closets and an office nook. The beautiful bathroom features a couples shower, and his and hers sink and vanity.

The lower floor has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and closet. They share an equally impressive bathroom. The lower floor also features a separate entrance and a shared space/kitchenette with small refrigerator.

The Lavender House is attractively furnished, and all kitchenware, linens, towels, and beach towels are provided. Beautiful wood cabinetry, walls and flooring gives this lovely beach home a rustic appeal. The top porch is ideal for drifting away, and the two outside staircases feature benched landings, delightful for curling up with a good book.

There is also an upper deck at the dock for sunbathing and stargazing; or just waiting for the perfect sunset.

Diving, fishing and many other activities can easily be arranged.
Our concierge can take you to the Utila Cays or to Utilatown for shopping or dining. He will even bring you fresh seafood.

The snorkeling just in front of the house is breath-taking.

The Lavender House comfortably accommodates up to six adults.

We also provide a provisioning service so you can arrive to a fully stocked house.

Rental includes one pick-up of all guests from their point of arrival in Utilatown, and one return-trip to your point of departure. Additional trips can be arranged through your concierge team.

If you are looking for peace, quiet, relaxation and escape from the hustle and bustle of a big tourist destination, then we can honestly say, 'This must be the place.'

Area Info
Utila is the smallest of the three main islands off the coast of Honduras known collectively as "the Bay Islands" (Las Islas de la Bahia). Utila has a collection of even smaller islands off her southwestern tip called the Utila cays, which boasts fresh-caught fish year round.

Even though the national language of Honduras is Spanish, the official language of the Bay Islands is English. Situated 18 miles from the mainland, Utila is accessible by ferry or airplane. Known for its relatively low-cost and high-quality diving courses, it is now also part of the recently-declared Bay Islands National Marine Park, which features two special-protected marine areas.

Utila has one of the world's most significant concentrations of the endangered Staghorn and Elkhorn corals, as well as year-round presence of whale sharks (the world's largest fish). Further, three species of sea turtles routinely visit Utila, Hawksbill, Loggerhead and Green, and she is home to the endemic and endangered Utila Spiny-tailed Iguana. Utila's mangrove forests are being considered for listing under the RAMSAR Convention as critical wetlands habitat, and the wet-dry savanna on the western part of the island is one of only a handful of similar eco-systems worldwide.

The climate of Utila ranges from mid-60's during winter up to the low 90's in summer. Luckily, strong East winds pick up at about the same time to keep it comfortable.

Utila is called the "baby brah" by her fellow islanders on Roatan, because of her small size and laid-back attitude. We'll all be sitting back waiting for you to come and enjoy our relaxing charms. Hope to see you soon!
