Description of the Uzumlu vacation villa rental
A luxury detached villa with everything for your perfect holiday. The ground floor has three living rooms that lead out to a terrace around a large illuminated private pool and on to extensive gardens. The upper two floors have five bedrooms with sun terraces and full air-conditioning. At 1500ft it has stunning views and enjoys mountain breezes even in mid-summer. A 1 mile walk takes you to Uzumlu village and a short drive takes you to Fethiye, Calis Beach, Olu Deniz Blue Lagoon and Patara Beach.
Things to do in the Fethiye area include water-sports, aerial activities, land sports, visiting archaeological and spectacular sites and great shopping. Around the seaside areas there is paragliding, micro-lites, wind-surfing, sailing, swimming, water-skiing and scuba diving. Inland there is walking, mountain biking, quad biking, horse riding and birdwatching.
Calis Beach is 20 minutes from the villa and has a 3 mile shingle beach with many bars and restaurants - you can also go to Fethiye from here by water taxi. Olu Deniz, Hisaronu and the Greek ghost town of Kaya Koy are all a short distance from Fethiye. Olu Deniz is famous for its blue lagoon and sandy beaches and is the main centre for paragliding, you can see them gliding off the mountain and landing on the beach. Hisaronu has a lively selection of night clubs, restaurants and tourist shops and Kaya Koy is worth visiting to see a preserved town left after the Troubles. Patara Beach is one hour away with an unspoilt 10 mile sandy beach and Lycian tombs and Roman ruins.
Fethiye is 17km from the villa and can be reached using the regular Dolmus minibuses or it is an easy 25 minute drive to the centre of a bustling port with lots to offer including modern supermarkets. In the harbour area you can walk past the boats or relax in the many bars and tea-rooms, in the old town there are shops offering quality leather goods, carpets and designer clothes. There are good restaurants of all types and there is an excellent food market near the harbour with meat, fish and fruit at very low prices. Fethiye is steeped in history and near the harbour you can see Lycian tombs cut out of the mountainside above the Roman amphitheatre.
