Description of the Vandalia vacation home rental

Located less than 2 hours from Chicago (115 miles),this is a beautifully rehabed house on Donnell Lake. Wake up on the water in this uniquely decorated, comfortable home that has a King bed in the master bedroom and three Queen beds in the back two bedrooms. There is a new kitchen with all of the modern appliances along with being fully furnished. In the living room there is a 43 inch flat screen HD t.v., stereo, blue-ray dvd player, and a chair and a half along with a 7 ft. long sofa. The relaxing screened in patio has a dining area along with a double chase lounge couch (great for naps in the shade). With a fire pit down by the water, it's everything you and your family need to enjoy a Summer vacation.
I have a nice pontoon boat that seats 10 with a table and a great stereo system that you can plug your ipod into that is included with the rental.

Sorry, but no pets allowed.....

Area Information

The town of Cassopolis has a local grocery store as well as a few nice restaraunts to choose from. We have a local bait shop, farmers market, gas station, and restaraunt withing 5 minutes. There is canoeing and kayaking down the road in Three Rivers as well.
For the Winter time, there is Swiss Valley Ski Resort 6 miles from the house that you can ski and snowboard at as well as Snowmoblie trails all over..

Other Vacation Rental Amenities

The towns of Dowagiac and Three Rivers are within 15 minutes of the house. I just rented canoes and Kayaks in Three Rivers last weekend. We had a blast and then they came and picked us up 4 hours down the river. It was a great expirience.

Girls Weekend

Six of us met at this lakefront home and had a great weekend. The accomodations were perfect, great kitchen, extremely clean and the furniture and view of the lake were very relaxing. I was surprised to see how clean the water was at the dock. Even my 92 year old mother felt right at home. Ed was wonderful to work with-He truly wants you to enjoy his house. It was a great time catching up with Michigan and Pennsylvania family. Lots of memories were made from the games on the lawn to the trips to the local wineries and casino. Wish we had more time-I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to get away.

Eddie was nice to work with and helped us every step of the way. The house was very clean and updated, a pleasure to stay in! Awesome sun rises and sunsets you can't go wrong. We rented the boat as well and had nice cruises everyday. A great place for a getaway and we'll be back next year!

Spotlessly clean. Kitchen and Baths were beautifully updated and has everything you need (pots, dishes, knifes, etc). Bunch of guys went for reunion but I would certainly take my family back for vacation. Great view of the lake right on backyard. Eddy the owner was very informative. Definitely deserves 5 stars.

Extended Family Time

This large boathouse was a perfect place for our extended family to get together. It was clean and nicely decoratd. Our grandchildren enjoyed the paddle boat, played with the beanbag toss and the croquet set. We made good use of both the gas grill and the fire pit. Our older son loved the place so much he plans to rent it again in the near future.

Amazing Home!

We stayed here with our extended family...6 adults, 2 teens, 3 kids and an infant. The house is amazing to say the least. Everything we could have wanted was available to us. We brought our clothes and our food and were good to go for almost a week! Eddie was wonderful to deal with and very pleasant. We hope to stay here again in the future!

My family----me, wife, and 2 kids stayed here in July 2009. It was amazing, we had a blast. The house is very nice and the beds are incredibly comfortable. It is so relaxing. We woke up early a couple of mornings and fished pre-dawn until the sun came up, it was wonderful----we caught bass and northern pike. We loved hanging out on the deck, it is very spacious and comfortable. We had no complaints at all. There is a nice grill on the patio which we used every night. The owner was a pleasure to deal with---everything was as advertised---very clean and comfortable.
