Description of the Vashon Island vacation apartment rental

Lovely non smoking studio apartment with private entrance in a high bank waterfront home. Full kitchen with refrigerator, gas range, microwave, coffee maker. TV, DVD player and high speed wireless Internet. Private bath in Apartment. Use of grounds including hot tub, gas BBQ and fire pit, all with breathtaking views of the Puget Sound, shipping lanes and city lights. Sleeps 2 adults in a queen size bed. Minutes away from Pt Robinson lighthouse and several other island beaches. Enjoy your morning coffee or an afternoon cocktail from your own patio while watching the resident eagles soar.

Vashon's patchwork of pastoral and natural settings make it a refreshing Northwest getaway. Miles of lightly traveled, pine edged country roads make bicycling and walking popular activities. There is something special and magical about being on an island, the pace is slower, the people friendly, the attitudes relaxed. Whether you are petting an Alpaca, slowing for deer crossing the road or watching eagles soar, you're sure to love Vashon.

The island is approximately 13 miles long by 8 miles at the widest point. A great deal of the island is kept to 5 and 10 acre parcels which helps us maintain a rural feel.

In the summer you can visit one of the many farms, rent a Kayak, or explore our beaches. One of the better beach walks is at the historic Point Robinson Lighthouse, with views of Mt .Rainier and Seattle. Lisabuela Beach on the westside is ideal for watching the sunset over the water. KVI Beach is great for a picnic, a walk with a friend or a nap in the sun.

The only way on and off the island is a breathtakingly beautiful ferry boat ride, with views of other islands as well as the Cascade and Olympic Mountains. The "auto/passenger" ferry boat (bicycles to 18 wheelers) loads from Fauntleroy Ferry dock in West Seattle and takes 15 minutes, it's a 10 minute ferry ride from the Point Defiance Ferry dock in Tacoma, and 10 minutes from the Southworth dock in Kitsap. A 35 minute crossing by "passenger only" ferry from downtown Seattle is also available Monday thru Friday

We just returned from a weekend at Loon Lookout and had a wonderful time. The host family was helpful, friendly, and very hospitable. The property was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. We spent a great deal of time enjoying the view, the hot tub, the fire pit, the garden... all of it! We will definitely be going back.

we live in seattle and wanted some place close yet far away from the busy city life. Just a short farry ride away and we were in heaven. We were met by a big golden retriever and the Hostess of the the home. we were made to feel as if we were part of the family and what ever we needed it was given. We had the place for four days and we would have stayed longer,but we had to get back to the business of working. we loved the little town of Vashon and the best place to eat is the Monkey Tree if you want a delisious home made reasonable priced breakfast,lunch or dinner. This little bit of heaven is well worth your money and time.

What a beautiful town you have here, its like a time warp 20 years past. The pace is slow and the people are kind. The owners of this property are very down to earth and kind, they helped with any thing we needed. When we arived they showed us to our beautiful room, which was almost like having our own little house on the island. The kitchenet was so cute and the whole place felt like home. We found ourselves saying at the beach things like "Well, we should take these shells 'home.'" The price is very low for what you get, there's a fire pit, hammok, Hottub, all there for you to use any time of the day or night. Not once did we even notice the owners were even there unless we went to talk to them. You want to try this place out
