The house was nothing fancy but comfortable enough for a family. We were welcomed by the landlady who spoke English very well and was gracious and accommodating at first. Versailles is a town where most stores and services are closed Sundays and after 8pm on any day... This is a huge inconvenience but our landlady kindly helped us acquire our first night's meal. And when one if the beds literally fell apart the moment we arrived, she replaced it immediately. Toward the end of our stay, the laundry dryer started making a clanging noise and when we asked her about it, she sent a repairman who confirmed that the damage had nothing to do with our use of the machine. However, the landlady expressed that she was quite angry about the situation and started insinuating that it was out fault. During he final walk-thru of the house before leaving I was upfront with her about a shower knob that had broken accidentally and offered to pay for it. This is when she totally lost her temper and started yelling at me about it. At first she said she would have to replace the entire shower kit which costs €100. By the time we went downstairs to get the cash from my husband, she said the kit would cost her €200 but will take €100 for the knob we broke. She also collected an extra €20 on top if the €90 I had already paid her for maid service because she said that washing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen was NOT included in the maid service we had paid for. My best advise to anyone wishing to stay here is DON'T... The place isn't nice enough nor convenient enough to endure such treatment-- simply unprofessional and out of line.
