Description of the Viana do Castelo vacation villa rental
Renovated from the ruins of an old Portuguese millhouse, Azenhas Carvalhas (the Oak Mills) stands in its own grounds on the edge of the small northern-Portuguese hamlet of Bogadela. The two story, stone-built house was completely rebuilt and extended in 1993, and comprises a fully-fitted kitchen, breakfast nook with original stone bread oven, a riverside dining room with two terraces, and two spacious living rooms (24 sqm each) on the ground floor. The second floor includes a master bedroom with en suite bathroom, two guest rooms and an additional bathroom, as well as an extensive 28 sqm riverside terrace with views of the river and distant hills of Spain.

The terraced grounds extend for 5,000 sqm. (1.25 acres), are partially wooded, and bordered on one side by the Mouro river, providing excellent trout fishing and a natural swimming pool - shallow below the waterfall & 1.5meters + above.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

Hi Donna,
It's the Priors! We have had a good look round for something that would come close to our stay at your house and have failed miserably. I'd like to ask you therefore about the availability for next August? We were thinking maybe of the 1st to the 15th? Am I right in thinking that there may be a few fiestas around that time?
I'm afraid the Mill has spoilt us forever.
