it was worth the search and locating the address [granted i did arrive around midnight], we dropped our jaws once we entered - you can see thoughts and care in every little corner and details and it feels very warm and personalized instead of a cold, vanilla hotel/motel room. The keeper is the kind that would be worried you wouldn't have prepared breakfast for yourself and would have microwave sausages available just to get you started. She also took the trouble to assemble a scrapbook just to help you figure out what you can do within your stay. That said, I could have stayed in the house all day and not venture out - I would have spent more time in the hot bath, I would have lounged and watched more DVDs, I would have cooked in the fully equipped open kitchen and dine on the lanai with my girlfriend. I would have just looked out the window and feel refreshed with all the greens. I would go back.

This place is heavan. Never felt so relaxed and refreshed. one of the best vacations we have ever taken.

We stayed at the Maile Treehouse for several days during our recent 30th Anniversary "Dream Vacation". We can not begin to thank Leslie and Michael enough for opening up this beautiful home for us and others to enjoy. The location is simply the best if you plan on spending a few days exploring everything that Volcanoes National Park has to offer. Creativity, the attention to detail and the pride of ownership is evident everywhere you look in and around this property. It's the little things that separate an average stay from a memorable one. And if you pay attention and take the time to "explore" this home and it's gardens you WILL discover all the "Little things" that help make it such a special place. The Customer service provided by the owners is also "Over and Above" what would be expected. And we were quite touched and appreciative of this. MAHALO!! The Maile Treehouse is such a “Magickal” place with so much to offer, that if you have an opportunity to stay here, you need to book it immediately before someone else beats you to it!! We will recommend this rental to EVERYONE and ANYONE who asks us for our suggestions. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to call home for our few short days on the Big Island. MAHALO...
