Description of the Wakefield vacation cottage rental
Thanks for a great 2012 season! Accepting bookings for June 2013.
Kick off your flip flops and get ready to relax! Well-furnished, nicely appointed one bedroom cottage in quiet, safe and restful "Middlebridge"- a Narrow River neighborhood- for select weeks.. Two beach passes to nearby Narragansett Town Beach are included! Large, private deck and yard, fully equipped kitchen, water access and boat ramp nearby, Dishes, pots and pans, and hi speed internet- many incidentals and extras- this is a fully furnished “turn key” home. Parking for two cars.
Enjoy riding bikes to the beach, take your kayak down the Narrow River to the beach at Narragansett, grill and sun on the deck, and walk and bike ride in the shady neighborhood.

Very convenient location- by car: 5 minutes from ocean (Narragansett Beach) or Wakefield area 10 minutes from URI campus, 15 minutes from Kingston Amtrak Station, 20 minutes from historic Newport and 30 minutes from Providence. The location is ideal for your RI vacation! close to everything you'll love about our Ocean State.
The cottage style kitchen with its charming pine paneling, ceiling fan and skylight is recently refurbished with new cupboards and counters and all stainless appliances and dishwasher; likewise for the bath with new tiled and glassed shower enclosure.
Living room with pull out couch with new memory foam mattress, wireless internet, flat screen TV w/ DVD player. Sorry. no cable TV service, but hook up your iPad with the provided HDMI cable and your adapter.
The bedroom features antique mahogany sleigh bed with two large antique dressers and a mahogany desk (for long evenings working on your Great American Novel…or postcards from your vacation...There is a room air conditioner in the bedroom, but chances are our ocean breezes will keep you cool!
Large yard, ground level deck and pergola, adjustable shade cover, table and chairs, and patio furniture. Cute sun porch furnished and equipped for bug-free candlelight dining. The gorgeous Narrow River, heralded as one of the Northeasts' best kayaking waterways, is visible from the house and the yard, and water access is a short walk down Middlebridge Road. Great area for walking, running, biking, and it is only a couple minutes drive or a ten minute bike ride from Narragansett Beach.

You'll find the house is equipped with beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, sun shades, sun screen, bug spray etc. You should plan to bring your own towels and linens. If we provide these there will be an extra charge of $25.
Rent kayaks and other watercraft at Narrow River Kayaks, just over the bridge at Middlebridge. Try one of their Moonlight Kayak Tours for a special treat! Fishing gear and bait available right across the way from the Kayak place.
Nice range of dining choices in nearby Narragansett, many with water views and outdoor decks. Pier Liquor has a lovely selection of wines, and ask them for recommendations. You'll find the best ice cream ever at Brickley's, just down Rt 1A.
Be sure to head into Galilee and grab some fish to grill at Champlin's- or get the old-school seafood dining tradition at Goerge's of Galilee...stroll the working waterfront in Galilee and watch the catch come in. Q:What is the most fun and unique activity close to the house?
A:The classic Narrow River activity of course- rent kayaks at Narrow River Kayaks, a short walk over the bridge, and spend the day paddling out to the gorgeous beach at The Narrows and back up along the waterway, taking in the scenery of our wonderful wildlife refuge. Even better, book a Full Moon Paddle, for Middlebridge's most romantic and fantastic night on the water.
Q:What's so great about Middlebridge, anyway?
A:Everything! We are a quiet sanctuary, very close to everything, but totally low key and relaxed...that's how we like it around here! People have been coming to Middlebridge to fish for eons, way back into the Native history of the area, and it is still one of the best "throw a line in" spots. The Bridge itself connects the towns of Narragansett and South Kingstown over the Narrow River, and is a spot to fish, meet the neighbors, go get a cold soda, and stroll in the moonlight. Kayaks and small launches are preferred modes of travel. Take a deep breath and relax.
Q:What's the coolest nearby activity?
A:Stay super cool in the ocean waters at the town beach in Narragansett! we provide the beach chairs, towels, and your beach passes- show up in your suit and start your vacation immediately! The beach is also the site for lots of great summer festivities, including concerts by the RI Philharmonic, the Arts Festival, and the Blessing of the Fleet dinner and fair.
