Description of the Waldport vacation home rental

Not a cabin, but a lovely, newer (2004), nicely furnished two bedroom two bath home with a den that doubles as a third bedroom. The home comfortably sleeps eight. The home is located in the Bayshore community located on the spit between beautiful Alsea Bay and the Pacific. It is less than a one-block walk to the beach access leading to miles of flat sandy beach.

The Crabbin' Cabin is fully equipped with everything you need, with the exception of your food, paper products and firewood (12 inch) for the wood stove. It is truly a relaxing comfortable home located in a laid back small town on the Oregon Coast. Waldport has everything you might need, but if you want a larger selection, Newport is a short fifteen miles to the North.

Area Description

This area of the Oregon Coast has numerous activities to entertain you. Within 40 miles each way on U. S. Hwy 101, there are three lighthouses, Sea Lion Caves, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, two 'Old Towns on the waterfronts, Depoe Bay and it 's 'World 's Smallest Harbor , and numerous golf courses for those so inclined. Crestview Hills is a nine-hole course in Waldport. In Florence are Sandpines and Ocean Dunes. In Lincoln City, Salishan and Chinook Winds. If your desire is to stay close to 'home you can use the crab rings (provided) and try you luck from the Port of Alsea crabbing dock. Be sure to get your license. Three-day licenses are available for a nominal fee. Nothing tastes better than fresh cooked Dungeness crab. Clamming can also be good with a minus tide. The same license covers clamming. Also, don 't forget the storm watching during the winter months.

 Crabbin Fever, July 28, 2008
By Jennifer Parker (Roy, Utah)
This home was wonderful and close to beach access. Our families enjoyed clamming, crabbing and searching for shells. The cabin is well laid out and gives you the at home feeling. The price is reasonable and the location is close to shopping, crabbing and good food. Our families cannot wait to return hopefully next year!  more...

 Lindemann Family, July 24, 2008
By Laura (Bend, OR USA)
The home itself was wonderful and had everything plus some that we needed! The only negative I can speak of is the actual rental process. It was a bit difficult and lacking somewhat in communication and we had to clean the entire house, we have never had to do that before and we have rented for years in Bayshore. But overall the house worked perfectly and we had a great vacation.  more...

Great place - weather was windy, July 15, 2008
By Evan Fleetwood (Sherwood Park, AB, Canada)
The house was a great surprise. It was well equipped and well situated on the coast to reach both the north and the south portions of the coast. Four of us spent a week there and we were impressed by the home. A couple problems were encountered and a call to Hannah at Dolphin realty had them fixed right away. An awesome place to go to escape the everyday hum drum of our lives.  more...
