Reviews for this vacation home rental in Washington, District of Columbia

 Christmas Vacation, January 3, 2009
By George Worthley (Corpus Christi, TX)
This home provided a great location for myself and extended family to visit relatives over the holidays. We were very happy with the accommodations and the kindness and generosity of our hosts. On top of all that we saved money over a hotel and had the added convenience of a fully equipped kitchen to help our dining budget out. Nice quiet location but strategically situated for many tourist attractions.

Home away from home, December 9, 2008
By Wayne J Rowe (Tiverton, RI)
I've been to Gettysburg six Novembers in a row and have stayed at three different hotels and even a B & B -- But this home easily beats them all. My friend and his wife, another friend and her son and I have stayed two years in a row and have already reserved for next year for a 4-day weekend at this beautiful home. We LIKE it! It is in a quiet area and yet not too far from all the sites a bunch of Civil War buffs enjoys to see. It feels just right, just like home. It allows “quality together time” for a small group of different friends/family that would not be available at a hotel. In addition to a nice gathering place for other friend in the area to come and join together. The owners go out of their way to ensure everything is perfect. We have many memories of Gettysburg and a lot of them come from staying at this home. I would give it my highest recommendation.

 Top -shelf B&B!, November 6, 2008
By Carl Withey (Syracuse, NY)
My wife and I have stayed at numerous bed and breakfast spots, but we,ve never found one better than Tall Oaks. Larry and Mary Anne knock themselves out to make sure you're comfortable, and the setting itself is absolutely beautiful. Also, they are starting a second business raising doves to rent at weddings and funerals, and it is worth staying there just to see these beautiful creatures and watch the two of them work with the birds. I cannot say enough good things about our stay there with them. It was fantastic and I would recommend as highly as possible for anyone looking for a great stay in a beautiful, peaceful environment.

Quiet Retreat at Tall Oaks, November 1, 2008
By Mark Roberts (Blacklick (Columbus area), Ohio)
My wife and I stayed at Tall Oaks along with my sister and brother-in-law during the first week of Oct. 2008. Mary Anne met us at the house and was very nice, explaining sites and places to see in the area. We liked the literature about various sites to see which had been both assembled by Mary Anne and left by other house guests for us to see. The house was clean, spacious, and a wonderful place to call "home" during our vacation in Gettysburg. STAYING HERE BEATS STAYING IN MOTEL/HOTEL BY FAR. There are so many places within 90 minutes to see that this house makes a great home base (Washington DC -70 minutes, Baltimore-60 min., Hershey-45 min., York-30 min.). The house is roomy, (love the large kitchen) everyone had privacy (separate bathrooms). The washer and dryer came in handy, as it allowed us to pack lighter. Everything was clean, and well maintained. I would recommend staying here to everyone who wants to go to this area. We will go back. Thank-you Mary Anne.
