built 1885, beautiful, historic rowhouse retains many original features; furnishings are contemporary/eclectic. hardwood floors and oriental/indian/tribal rugs throughout. first floor is living room with stereo/cd player/high quality speakers/sub woofer, comfy leather chairs, contemporary art work, half bath, kitchen w/fridge/freezer, microwave, stove w/oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, tv with digital cable. screened porch (storm windows in winter), back garden with outdoor furniture and grill. second floor is den with tv (digital cable), cd player, dvd and vcr, bedroom with queen bed (futon on platform), bathroom with tub/shower, 2nd bedroom with queen futon on a frame that converts from sofa to platform bed, tv and vcr in 2nd bedroom. washer/dryer in basement. books, cards, board games. all is well appointed, attractive, and comfortable. wireless highspeed internet available with your computer or dial-up with my old laptop.

Area Description

i love my neighborhood! 3 blocks from trendy u street corridor in northwest dc. 5 blocks from lively adams morgan. many restaurants, nightclubs, music venues (the famous nightclub 9:30 is 5 blocks away!), shops nearby. very pleasant half-hour walk to dupont circle. really nice neighbors. green line metro is 2 1/2 blocks away to provide access to all of metropolitan washington dc.

easy access to public transportation: the house is 2 1/2 blocks (5 - 7 min walk) from the subway and is a block from major bus routes. easy walking distance to restaurants, clubs, and shops.

I stayed in the house for 3 weeks in spring of 2007. House is delightful with excellent amenities. Owner was very helpful and provided comprehensive info. House is very conveniently located near to the U St corridor and Metro (Green line). Out of state plates can park all day on Florida between 11th and 13th (North side). Cat is very easy to care for. House is not cheap, but is very nice.
