Bathroom, second bedroom and a meditation room, open off the living area, and patio doors lead onto a deck. There is also a mud room, with a washing machine and dryer. A unique spiral staircase, hand crafted by Matt, leads up to the main bedroom, whose windows look out among the tree tops.
There is a firepit, telephone, music centre and an interesting collection of books. The cottage is connected to the INTERNET through WI FI. The lake is only a minute away and visitors are welcome to use the family's fishing canoe.
Medawisla is ideal for those visitors who want somthing a little different, and away from the usual stresses but with a variety of entertainment and activities just down the road (17 miles in either direction). On a rainy wet day, there is nothing nicer than to curl up in the meditation room with a book, play games or do a jigsaw. A place to savour the rich and varied flavours of Maine.

We had a relaxing week in this delightful woodland cottage: charming and rustic. It proved to be a very good base for exploring an area which we did not know, and a cosy home to return to after the adventures.

This cottage in the woods was so peaceful & relaxing, no lights, no noise at night except for the beautiful calls of the Loons, if you want a place to unwind this is it, we enjoyed having no tv to distract us from nature, we listened to the radio and read alot, something we never take time to do at home, not very far from anywhere you want to be but then all of Maine is a day trip, we enjoyed the canoe on the pond and even awoke one moring at 4am and was on the pond at 4:30 am to watch the sun come up, we also got a very nice close up view of a pair of loons, they were beautiful. We saw all 3 pair we beleive, plus the chipmonks, squirels and all the birds at the feeder. the firepit was nice and we even needed the heat a couple of times, my husband & I got the rest and rejuvination we were looking for and did not want to leave, this cottage is a beautiful little place and the pictures do not do it justice.

This was a wonderful getaway from our day to day routine. We loved the cabin, and Washington DOES have hidden treasures inddeed: the Labyrinth was a special treat for my husband and I and our two teen boys. We loved the "Downtown Gallery", Farmers Market, Sweetgrass winery, and Sweet Season Farm. Canoeing was great on the beautiful Washington Pond. We discovered Liberty Tool and what a treat! Eileen's Take-Out in just a tiny trailer was a gem in itself! We did Camden, Cadillac Mtn. in Acadia, Bar Harbor, Bald Mtn., Spruce Mtn. and so much more! Anna and Rosie were so wonderfully accommodating. We hope to return. Thanks for your delightful cabin! Our evening family campfires were memories we shall treasure!

This cottage, known as Medawisla, was an absolutely delightful escape. Beautiful, rustic, easy to live in, peaceful, warm - my wife and I have found ourselves running out of adjectives to describe the place and our week there. Damp weather didn't spoil a thing for us. Washington Maine itself is hardly exciting, but it's located within 40 minutes of lots of wonderful coastal towns, from Camden to Boothbay Harbor, and we did manage to find several charming 'finds' within minutes of the cottage. Modest water view, but a very short walk to the canoe provided on lovely Washington Pond. The owner, Ms. Needham, couldn't have been more easy and pleasant to deal with. Plenty of helpful information on site, and a nearby woman who knows all the ropes. The 'meditation room' was just great. It was just the 2 of us most of the week, but it would work fine for 4. Brand new washer/dryer came the day we arrived, (though we didn't need to use it ourselves). We hope to return many times.

The cabin and the setting was lovely. It was private and quiet and close enough to the local towns to add variety to our stay. The lake is beautiful and if it wasn't for the rain we would have enjoyed it daily. Our day trips to Pemaquid Point and Acadia were perfect. A great retreat for anyone!

The cottage was fabulous (great location, plenty of room, love the meditation room). Thank you so much. It was convenient to many tourist areas which was great. Being able to cook meals and have family time in a real place was a real treat. We would definitely consider coming again in the future.

This cabin was exactly as described and offered a great experience. We were a family of three and had more than enough room. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor were just two hours away and made for a great day trip. A trip to the coast was within a one hour drive. This cabin offered a great opportunity to get away from the commercial tourist areas but was also convenient when we wanted to visit those areas during the day.

We really enjoyed our stay on Washington Pond. It's a beautiful setting and the cottage is lovely, as well. We would certainly consider going again!
Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Medawisla. It is s real oasis in the woods. We all loved it and have returned home feeling thoroughly refreshed, recharged and back "in tune" with ourselves and one another. I couldn't believe the beauty outside each window- it has been like living in a tree house. Many hours of peace were enjoyed in the lovely meditation room and my husband spent hours trying to work out how the staicase was built! I hope that we can make a return visit one day.
