We are located across the street from Finger Lake where you can kayak, jet ski, boat or fish. You can also ice fish and snow machine in the Winter! Kayaking in the summer can take you all the way through the Finger Lake system and have you going for hours! We are centrally located with 7 cabins in both Wasilla and Palmer, all on salmon spawning creeks! Very serene settings, but close to everything.

Our stay in Wasilla

Diane and her husband were very helpful and welcoming, even though we arrived very early. They gave us ideas and a map, showing us a beautiful drive to Matanuska Glacier. On our way back, Diane called to say our cabin was ready and we could go straight there. The cabin was very, very nice and clean and we enjoyed our stay there immensely! They also told us about Hatchers Pass, which we drove the next day. Talk about beautiful! We were even blessed to see a bull and cow moose, grazing and drinking in the grassy hills, before we got close to Willow. Thank you for your patience, your help and your suggestions. Also your concern for our safety! You made our stay in Wasilla fun and wonderful and we would stay there again. Hopefully, we get the chance to come back! Thanks again, the Schlaters.

Owner's reply:

Thanks for taking the time to write a review Rita. We really appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed your stay and got to see some of the best that Alaska has to offer. And good to hear everything worked out well with the four wheelers :)

Loved the Creekside cabins!

My sister and I and our adult kids rented two of the cabins next to each other for three nights on our first trip to AK. We loved it! The cabins were quaint, clean and the views beautiful! We enjoyed the fire pit one night and used the kitchen to make a couple homemade meals. Diane and John were so friendly and helpful in assisting us in finding our way around and deciding what to do and see. We even had a moose and her baby visiting in the "backyard!" We would definitely rent here again! Thank you, Diane!!

Owner's reply:

Very happy that you all enjoyed your stay & we really appreciate you taking the time to leave a review Sydney. Glad you got to see the moose too :)

Trip to beautiful Alaska

Three adults stayed in Serenity and it was very accomodating and the view of the Talkeetna mountains from the deck was spectacular! The only downside is that the access to the loft was by ladder, not steps, but if you do not mind climbing up and down a ladder it would be fine. Other than that our stay was perfect! Alaska is a beautiful and magical place, hope to return someday.

Excellent place to stay in a great location

Anytime I am staying in the Mat Su area I always stay here if there is an opening. When I stay here I am always assured an easy check in and check out, clean, quiet and comfortable accommodations at a great price/value. All of the cabins have a beautiful view and though you maybe close to others you feel a sense of privacy and quiet that I have not found with similar places. The host, Diane, is always pleasant and helpful. The cabins are located in such a place that it is an easy day trip to places such as Talkeetna, Anchorage, Palmer, Girdwood, Hatcher Pass and even Seward! Shopping and restaurants are also closely.

Owner's reply:

Thanks Marianne!

Great get-a-way

The cabin was clean and had a great view. The kitchen had everything we needed and the hosts were great at giving us directions to the places we wanted to visit. We would love to go back for our next staycation!!

Owner's reply:

Jeannette, Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a nice review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. I know my husband got to meet you, but hopefully next time I will also. Thanks again, Diane

Fabulous experience

We were first time Alaska visitors and we had a wonderful experience. Our first night, we were visited by a moose! Our cabin was exceptionally clean and the owners were very accomodating. We enjoyed the peace and quiet but also appreciated being fairly near a large grocery store. We also experienced charter fishing with the owner of the cabins which was a huge bonus! The owners were extremely helpful with everything and we would love to go back there some day!

Serenity Cabin - great place to stay

The Serenity cabin was very nice and was more roomy than it looked from the outside. It was stocked with everything we needed. Perfect for cooking your own meals at the cabin, whether inside on the stove or outside on the BBQ. The view was beautiful of the surrounding mountains around Hatchers Pass. The cabin was very centrally located to a lot of activities in the Palmer/Wasilla area. The owners were so nice and very accomodating. For those who want total privacy, keep in mind that there is another cabin right next door to the Serenity cabin, about 25 feet away that can see into your living room window, so you have to keep your curtains closed, which takes away some of the view. And their deck is also right next to your deck. So this would not be a good place if you want total privacy. All in all, it was a great place for our family vaction. I would stay there again.

Beautiful and convenient

This is an excellent cabin esp if you are a couple or single family or a small group: 2-4 people. Beds are decent. It's clean and the location is beautiful yet convenient. Con: Only one restroom that may run out of hot water after a couple of showers. We did and had to wait 20-30 mins.

Awe inspiring!

Awesome views, clean accomodations, centrally located to all of our day excursions. Peaceful. Saw bald eagles from cabin deck every morning. John and Diane are great! Very helpful and offered us the use of there personal fishing equipment as well as hair dryer when our daughter's went on the fritz. Miss it already. Look forward to visiting again.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

Thank you John and Diane for our most memorable vacation ever! We loved our stay at your beautiful cabin with the gorgeous views of the Talkeetna mountains and peaceful Cottonwood Creek. We traveled throughout the South-central region of Alaska and found your cabins to be the best by far in every way. We were so comfortable in your clean, spacious, and attractive accommodations. You were also such great hosts with so much knowledge about the endless opportunities for adventure just outside the door. Thank you so much; we now have beautiful life long memories!

What a way to end the night.
