Great location, quiet and oh so cozy :)

My husband and I stayed here for a week in January with our two golden retrievers in hopes to see snow. The location of the cabin is conveniently located between adorable downtown Waynesville and Maggie Valley/Cataloochee ski area. Also, with only a 40 minute drive with serene views to Asheville there was never a dull moment. The cabin itself was the closest to home I've ever felt being away from home. It was very well equipped with everything we needed to not ever have to leave the cabin aside for food. Our dogs loved roaming the connecting balcony as we enjoyed breathtaking views day in and day out. The owner, Jeff, was extremely accommodating and genuinely cared about our comfort. We hope we can return soon.

Great Place to Stay in Maggie Valley

My wife and I was very pleased with this cabin. We have been renting cabins for 5 years in the Smokies and by far this was a five plus and the best one that we have stayed in. The view was fantastic and the interior was perfect. I love how the layout is inside and outside could not asked for a better place to stay on vacation. When we visit this area again in the future we have this place picked out for our stay next time. Thanks Jeff we enjoyed it alot...

Felt like a piece of Heaven

I just had a wonderful week in this beautiful house. Everything I needed was right at my fingertips. The views were lovely, the house was very comfy and every need was taken care of. The fireplace was grand as it was nice having a BBQ grill available too. The overall look was very inviting and flet like I was at home. This was a great choice and if I return to the area, I would stay here again.

Whispering Winds "Wow's"

The first "Wow" is your drive up to the cabin on a gravel mountain road that twists, bumps & climbs steeply as the valley floor drops away. A final push at the end of the driveway takes your breath away the first time. I can’t imagine doing it without 4WD. And for your second Wow? Arrive in daylight - not just for the driveway but for your step inside this remarkable cabin. Trying to describe the view outside the windows is like attempting to describe sunshine. You simply have to be here. The cabin is a comfortable work of art: • Blonde tongue & groove pine • Flagstone WB fireplace & kitchen island • Extraordinary American Indian tools, shields & baskets • Terry Redlin & nature prints • Ceramic flooring with inlaid entryway • Wide covered deck with wrap-around porch • Six 6’ screened windows & two full glass doors • Plush “sink-in” family room furnishings • Heavy wood King bed • Attractive ceiling fans placed throughout The next “Wow” - raised kitchen & bathroom fixtures! This would be a perfect set-up for men & women over 6’ tall. The kitchen island, counter, stove & both bathroom vanities are raised 3-4 inches from normal height. At 5’ 3” it wasn’t perfect for me, but it was workable. The owner is responsive & friendly, going out of his way to give information about the cabin & local activities.

This rental could not be better. We enjoyed ourselves every minute for the 8 days that we were there. Beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. Quite likely to return.

High on the Mountain in Maggie Valley

Just off route 276, Turn right onto a gravel trail that zigzags up the mountain until you reach the very top. A beautiful cabin lies waiting for you to enjoy its comfort. As you enter the cablin a fully equipped kitchen catches you eye. Across the room a large flat screen tv with Dish Networks becks your attention. As you walk through the hallway you notice washer and dry to your right. Across the hall way oppose the washer and dry you discover two commodes and one urnial. You think to yourself, This guy must have had allot of females in his family. Anyway, as you reach the bed room you lay down on the bed to check the comfort of the king size mattress. Your body calls out, "This is heaven" Finally, you force yourself to leave the comfort of the bed, crossing the room to open the outside door that leads along the porch. A cool breeze slaps you in your face which reenforces your decision to rent this cabin was a very good one.

Amazing place! Pictures do NOT do it justice. We have family in the area and travel to Waynesville/Maggie at least once a year. We normally go through the local property managment company, but got frustrated with all the extra fees they charges. I'm so glad I stumbled across this place. The view is amazing and the cabin itself is extremely clean and well taken care of. Lots of extras too! Loved the movie collection, great for family nights by the fire. Owner was kind and pleasant to deal with. I can't wait to visit again!

This cabin lives up to the description the owner posted and a whole lot more! We have travelled all over the US and Canada and enjoyed many listings like this but none have lived up to their description like this one! Literally all you need to take is what you plan to eat while you are there. The linens are high end and the kitchen is completely stocked for even the most accomplished cook. We only stayed for a long weekend but it felt like a week or more. So relaxing and peaceful. The views are beautiful any time of day and the XM Radio is a wonderful addition to a warm fire and a romantic dinner. Thank you so much we will be back! Deb & Calvin

Another great vacation

This was our second year staying at this location, and it won't be our last. This cabin is secluded on top of a mountain just outside of Waynesville with outstanding views, great accommodations, and an owner who will do all he can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. It truely feels like a home away from home.

The view of Johnathan Creek in the morning with the clouds covering the valley was as pretty as a picture. We have been visiting the GSM for 40 years and this cabin was our highlight. Warm, charming and every amenity one could ask for. Fall foliage was spectacular. The switch-back gravel road was a challenge, but with a little luck and a lot of faith we made it to the top. Though the wet leaves covering the road was gorgious and a beautiful sight, they made the ascend quite slippery. We were experts by the end of the week.

Most Incredible!

We had the most incredible stay at Whispering Winds! Relaxing with nature we watched birds, clouds and the first of the falling leaves and didn't want to leave. The cabin is so well appointed with all of comforts of home, better than any 4 star hotel! We look forward to being able to return!

Perfect Smoky Mountain Getaway

We stayed here for 3 days in early June and we couldn't have been more pleased. Quick and easy to find, yet quiet and secluded. Located just on the outskirts of Maggie Valley and within just a short distance to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Cataloochee of the Great Smoky Mountains.
