Description of the Wells vacation cottage rental

We are away Nov15 to Dec20,2008. Please Water Crest with questions. Thank you!

Our cottage is located at WATER CREST COTTAGES on Route 1 in Wells. The Water Crest complex has multiple cottages. Each one is individually owned and decorated. Ours (we think) is very special & we try hard to make it like home for our guest. It has one large bedroom with 2 double beds(new box & mattresses). The kitchen dining area is one room with all new appliances. We have a large bath with constant hot water on demand (hairdryer, curling iron). The front porch is enclosed for sitting out in the evening. All dishes, pots,pans & lobster pot provided. New AC/Heat unit, microwave, toaster coffeemaker, etc. Cable TV/VCR, DVD's, movies, games & books. There is a gas grill & table out front & a play area in the field. We do not provide linens. The service is available at the office for a small fee.
The pool is over on the front row of cottages with the spa. We picked this cottage because it is on a corner lot & is quiet. The Laptop hook up,library, washers & dryers are under the office. The telephone is for local calls & messages.
Please leave us a note in our Guest Book if you stay!
Check in is 3:30PM & check out is 10:00AM so the cottage can be cleaned. All cottages are individually owned and decorated. Our association will require a credit card imprint for security deposit against loss or damage.
Will accept well trained small dogs. Must keep yard clean.

We are on the Wells Trolley Line to the beaches, shopping etc. There are two parking spaces in front of our cottage & we suggest that you leave the car parked & take the Trolley in high season. The Trolley goes out Mile Road & makes a couple of Beach stops. I believe it is $1.00 a ride (not sure). The schedule is on the Refrigerator.

Mike's Clam Shack & the Steak House are both a short walk down route 1. Mike's has a Lobster Pound so you can bring the little critters home to cook...(the pot is under the sink).

Very close, there is a little truck grill with Lobster Rolls, Clam Chowder, etc. Go across the play field & behind the BIG house then up to Route 1. The white truck is always parked there. You can sit outside & eat or bring it home.

Some points of interest are the Kittery Outlets, Ogunquit Playhouse and the beautiful Rachel Carson Preserve. Wells has 7 miles of fine sandy beaches!! Also lots of great food. We like The MAINE DINNER! Good food, nice prices.

We left many brochures of all kinds under the table on the porch.

Directions: Take the Maine Turnpike from north or south to exit 19 WELLS. Take a left turn at the light (just past the toll booth) on to Rt. 109. This will take you to Route 1. At the traffic light turn right. WATER CREST is 1/2 mile ahead on your left. The office is next to the sign. We are #109.

New Large very beautiful Asian Restaurant on the right side of route 1 (about 4 miles down going toward York). Very good food with many selections. Also, GREAT Ice Cream place across from The Asian Restaurant (look for the sign).

• Deposits: Down Payment is 50%. All cancellations are subject to a $25.00 booking fee. No personal checks accepted at check in. No refunds on early departure. A credit Card imprint is required for security deposit against loss,damage or exceptional cleaning. Rentals that are less than a week or 3 nights will be charged a slightly higher rate.
   
• Other Fees: Linen service is available for a small fee, please plan accordingly. Washers & Dryers take quarters.

My daughter had 2 upcoming doctor appointments and we both needed some time to get away and relax and that's just what we were able to do. We stayed in cottage #109 for 4 days and when we left we felt like we were leaving "our" home. We have never done this before but we will definately come back

My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom cottage (#136) at the beginning of September 2008. The cottage was very clean, quaint with nice furnishings. The amenities were great especially the kitchenette, gas grill, laundry on site, full bath with shower/tub, cable TV, etc. It was a quite place to stay while being close to restaurants, beaches, churches and other local interests. The price was great for an off-season rental. We really enjoyed our stay here.

We had a great experience at Water Crest Cottages. Irene and Paulette in the office were very friendly and the cottage was spotless and comfortable. We've stayed in several different places around the area over the years and this was by far at the top of our list. We hope to stay there next summer. Thanks for everything. Beth
