Description of the Wells vacation home rental

This gorgeous home was featured in The Country's Best Log Homes Magazine in May! Everything is new in this never before rented home that is made with original logs for the ultimate Maine Experience. The lake offers no restrictions boat wise so you can bring your boat and enjoy the lake to the fullest. We have a nice dock for you to attach your boat, fish off of, or just sit and relax. The lot offers lots of space on the lake side and has a nice firepit area for your nightly fires and s'more cooking. The home is located on a peninsula so you have the water on both sides with amazing views from even the bedrooms on both sides of the house! The water access is very shallow and is sandy in front of the house and perfect for children and people of all ages to enter and exit and gradually gets deeper as you go out into the lake. There is also a paddle boat and 2 kayaks left at the home for your enjoyment and the Sanford Country Club is less than 1/2 mile from the home. The open concept living room,dining area, and kitchen of the home is well set up for family gatherings and guests of all ages! The 5 Bedrooms are located on all 3 different levels of the home offering lots of privacy and space to get away from each other if you want to! There are 2 bathrooms, one on the top floor where the Master Bedroom (Queen Log Bed and Couch) and #2 bedroom (2 Double Log Beds and 1 Twin Bed) are and another on the main floor of the home off of the kitchen and living room area (Queen Log Bed) and where bedroom # 3 is located. Bedroom #4 is on the bottom floor of the home and features a double log bunk bed with double beds on the bottom and on the top! Bedroom #5 is also on the bottom floor and offers a Queen Log Bed. There is also a living space area down on this floor which has lots of sliders for direct access to the lake side of the house.

Area Information

Sanford center is only 2 miles from the home and offers restaurants, a movie theater, a gym (Planet Fitness), shopping, and grocery stores. Sanford Country Club is less than a 1/2 mile from the home and offers golfing and a restaurant. The beaches are 15 minutes away in Wells, Ogunquit, and Kennebunk and the the York beaches are less than 30 minutes from the home providing you with the best of both worlds--a house at the lake AND coastal beaches nearby! If you are interested in amusement parks & water parks, Funtown Splashtown USA and Aquaboggin are 30 minutes from the home in Saco.

Other Fees: All rates are for 10 people with each additional person being $100 per week or $25 per day, whichever is less. In the summer we only rent Saturday to Saturday and in the off-season we do have a 3 night minimum.

Family Reunion

An overall pleasant stay at this property. The home was beautiful and easily accommodated our entire family for a family reunion. The positives: large dining room table for 10 plus people, plenty of dishes, gas stove, microwave and double ovens for adequate cooking space, nice fire pit close to the pond, use of 3 kayaks and 1 paddle boat, adequate parking for 3 cars and air conditioning for main floor and upstairs bedrooms for those warm summer evenings. The negatives (although easy to overlook): not enough hooks or towel bars in each of the bathrooms, no light over stove area, limited ( and small in size) supply of silverware, especially forks, lack of washer/dryer and lack of a large stock pot for cooking lobsters, steamers, etc. I would say the only disappointment in our entire stay was that we felt the ability to use the pond for swimming was mis-represented. We were assured that we would be able to swim in the pond (and were told there was some semblence of a beachy area), but were unable to do so due to an abundance of lillypads and weeds. Finally, we found the location very convenient to Wells Beach, Ogunquit Beach, Lake Winnepesaukee and Portland making for easy day trips.

Maine Log Home Lake House

Beautiful home! The furniture and decor was just lovely, everything we needed except food, sheets and towels was available in the house. We vacationed with 2 other families and there was plenty of room for us all. 7 kids in all were there and never bored! So much to do outside from the picnic tables and kayaks to fire pit and paddle boat. The lake is small and great for fishing and paddling around. Very quiet and serene setting, extremely relaxing! The ocean is also an easy drive to experience that part of southern Maine too. We vacationed with friends from PA who absolutely loved visiting Maine here. We were very surprised to see how nice the house was. We weren't expecting to feel so pampered at a lake house. There is a deck with table and chairs to eat outdoors and still have a view of the lake also. We would rent it again in a heartbeat, great house, great vacation. Couldn't have asked for more. The property manager/owner is also very nice and on top of things, a pleasure to rent from.
