Description of the Wells River vacation home rental

The home has a Victorian front porch. It was officially declared a 1820 historic home. It's located in the village of Wells River. It retains its old-fashioned atmosphere with open kitchen cupboards, attached woodshed and a large woodstove. Flower gardens, picket fence, plenty of parking. Privacy, its vis-a-vis is the river. Have breakfast in the sun directly by the roaring Wells River which flows into the Connecticut River within 1/2 mile. Ideal for 2 adults and 2 - 3 children.
Directly behind the house is a steep hill containing the historic Bailey Hazen Road that stretches diagonally through
the state of Vermont up into Canada.

The village of Wells River is situated on the border between Vermont and New Hampshire. The mighty Connecticut River divides the two states. Besides being a great place for relaxation, it also affords terrific sight-seeing adventures. You are within 40 minutes to 1 1/2 hours from the NH White Mountains, Mount Washington, the famous Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, NH, Dartmouth College, the VT State House in Montpelier, Burlington, Lake Champlain, Canadian border, Lake Memphromagog and Mount Burke for winter skiing.
Wells River has 2 ice cream shops, a lunch counter, a family dining restaurant, a truck stop known as P&H, where you can always hear French spoken because of neighboring French Canadian Quebec, theater performances in the immediate vicinity, art galleries and outdoor sales markets. Wells River is an active mercantile village of 300 people. 3 miles from Interstate 91, 145 minutes from either Manchester or Burlington airport. The town is located at the southern border of the so-called Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
