Cape Cod waterview cottage walk to beach

Our sweet cottage is in a beautiful area of West Dennis with access and waterviews of Kelly's Pond and within walking distance of the village, the harbor and an easy 1/2 mile walk to South Dennis Beach - one of the longest and best beaches in the area.

When you arrive at Summer Pines Cottage you will feel as if you have gone back in time to the way Cape Cod use to be. The updated compact cottage sits on spacious land under the tall pines among charming cottages in a quiet, safe lakefront community with a private playground for the kids and a clean lake for swimming (with a shallow wade in area), fishing, kayaking, canoeing barefoot steps away across the dead end way.

You will be one of the first guest since we newly renovated and decorated it in comfortable and classic Cape cottage style, it has a bedroom on the first floor and two separate sleeping loft areas with angled ceilings separated by a walkway over the living room and accessed by a spiral staircase (good for adults, older kids or well supervised younger ones) and a pull out couch in the living room. The living area has a fireplace for cool nights, a flat screen TV and skylit vaulted ceiling with a fan for hot days. The two loft areas each have reading nooks, window AC and one of the loft areas has cable TV and a VCR as well. Great place for the kids to hang out while the adults enjoy the living room or patio. The cottage is small but laid out in a cool unique way so that there is space and places for everyone to enjoy privacy.

The bathroom has a shower and there is also a brand new hot water outdoor shower to rinse off from the beach or the lake or for your morning summer shower in nature - a Cape Cod treat.

No pets. No smoking please.

Unusual for Cape rentals but very handy for families and guests traveling to Cape Cod by air - this cottage also includes all bed linens, towels, a washer and dryer and two bikes with bike helmets and bike lock.

Many Cape activities from swimming, boating, biking, hiking, beach going and strolling to restaurants and shops in West Dennis are at your doorstep.

We know from experience that a wonderful getaways include good food, good drink, comfortable surroundings, and good entertainment for rainy days so we have tried to make sure the cottage has just about everything you would need from the fully equipped but compact kitchen with an eating table and 4 stools to the washer and dryer and grill and table and chairs for eating outside on the private patio out back.

The cottages are a nice distance away from each other and Summer Pines has a large and private backyard - perfect for games and gatherings.

We wanted Summer Pines Cottage to be a place to unplug and swim, fish, hike, bike, boat, read, cook, play games and reconnect with each other - the way vacations used to be. No internet but we do have expanded cable and a DVD and VCR on two TVs.

Available mid April - early November, Summer Pines cottage is a great getaway - just 1.5 hours from Boston.

West Dennis is special among the Cape Cod villages as it has wonderful beaches, restaurants, charming Cape style homes, pristine waterways, marshes, ponds and harbors - all with an unhurried, less crowded pace. Perfectly located on Mid Cape - it is a great base to explore both the upper and lower capes. West Dennis Beach spans over a mile of shoreline and is a great spot for windsurfers, kite flying and playing all sorts of fun water and beach games. With so much room, this beach never gets too crowded.

With World class theater and music at Dennis' Cape Cod Playhouse, Cape Cod Melody Tent, free summer games at the Cape Cod Baseball League, the beautiful Cape Cod Bike Trail, great restaurants, shops, bike rentals, boat rentals, fishing, cruises and whale watching tours, mini golf, art galleries, museums and ferries to the islands nearby, you will not run out of things to do in the area for all ages.
